Fox News footage flawed: No protest fight charges planned
LANSING — Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III said he won’t file criminal charges after reviewing unedited video showing events that led to a Fox News contributor being punched during December’s right-to-work demonstrations.

Steven Crowder filed a police report following the Dec. 11 incident at the Capitol, which Michigan State Police had referred to Dunnings’ office for review. The fight occurred amid generally peaceful demonstrations involving more than 10,000 people who had gathered in Lansing that day as lawmakers voted on a package of bills that ban requiring union dues as a condition of employment.
    ...

“It’s pretty clear the person that they wanted to charge was acting in self-defense,” Dunnings said of the union member who apparently slugged Crowder..
Any of you fine folks want some crow?

This is how biased and gullible zerohedge is at any moment.

Remember when conservative comedian and Fox News contributor Steven Crowder was punched in the face by a union activist outside a Michigan protest? Crowder made a big deal about it, even going so far as to challenge the protester to a “legal, sanctioned mixed martial arts bout.” Then came the unsurprising revelation that the video was misleadingly edited to make Crowder look like an innocent, if obnoxious, victim.

That heavily edited video, which Fox News themselves released, is the reason why, on Monday, Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III announced he will not press charges against the protester, who Dunnings said was trying to defend himself.

“It’s pretty clear the person that they wanted to charge was acting in self-defense,” Dunnings said of the union member who apparently slugged Crowder.
Some of the original posters on this thread, one of which I am not allowed to mention, are being very prolific today. I wonder if they'll revisit the issue.

It’s unclear who pushed the union member. Crowder was standing nearby and appears to throw his hands up in the air in a gesture of innocence after the man fell, the video shows.

    ...

“I’m not holding that against him, but why would they provide the edited video? The longer video clearly shows the guy got pushed down and came up swinging,” Dunnings said.
Confirmation that the union member did attack him. Enjoy your self serving of crow.

    Since this isn't sinking in:
“It’s pretty clear the person that they wanted to charge was acting in self-defense,” Dunnings said of the union member who apparently slugged Crowder.
I know you'll just cry to get this deleted too, but are you against the right to self-defense?

    Smile, Mikey!

Evidently the county prosecutor didn't see it the same way you do. Do you consider all victims who get pushed to the ground who lash back as attackers or only union victims?

I don't come up swinging at this guy: "Crowder was standing nearby and appears to throw his hands up in the air in a gesture of innocence after the man fell, the video shows."

    Around 5:50.

Apparently only right wingers are entitled to self-defense. This story, pushed by the koo-koo bird at zerohedge, totally fell apart when people saw the unedited video. I'm amazed to see people still defending it even after the fake charges were dismissed.

You can watch the video yourself or you can take the word of someone duped by a 9/11 truther site. The unedited video makes the union thugs look worse. Your call emdot.

Well, it's not my call; it was the county prosecutor's call. He evidently saw the unedited video and decided that it was provoked and deemed it self-defense.

Shocker: Fox News Rape Jokester Steve Crowder Wasn’t Victim Of Legitimate Union Thug Assault

“It’s pretty clear the person that they wanted to charge was acting in self-defense,” Dunnings said of the union member who apparently slugged Crowder.

Turns out what actually happened was the guy who punched Crowder had just been shoved to the ground by someone who may or may not have been Crowder so the punch thrown was kosher. Whether it landed on an appropriate target (let’s just assume it did) is an open question. Either way, no crime. Wonketteers can watch Crowder take a punch like he was Michael Spinks without any guilt that they’re laughing at a crime. Because it wasn’t a crime.

Steven Crowder, as one might expect based on his recently-divorced-dad-cruising-for-skanks leather (pleather?) jacket, is just a whiney little fraudster who can’t take a punch. Truly, there are no heroes left.

So if someone punches a guy you'd be okay with him getting up an attacking you? Would you be okay with that simply because the prosecutor doesn't want to press a charge?
