Correct. Reports are that the gunman has been neutralized... not that he's dead... supposed to be an update from the authorities within the next couple of minutes

I'd bet that the frequency is more related to the fact that theres a thousand sources all working 24/7 and this stuff goes out instantly from everywhere almost as it happens. We are innundated, where as less than 20 years ago tons of stuff happened we'd never hear about unless it was local.

And other than typical, and historical Human nature, what do you think might be going on? Just saying, we've been insanely violent forever.

Well at least he saved the taxpayer some money by killing himself. Wonder what we'll find out was the reason for his murder spree. He didn't shout allah-u'akbar so that can't be it. :/

Hard to say, about this time of year I was at The Centre in Salisbury in 1996 or so..... one dead, one wounded. Turned out thugs from Norfolk and local trash from Isabella St got to shooting each other over a drug deal gone bad from the summer. Took forever to get home with the car searches.

We have more people in this country now

Not long ago it was 200 million, now it is 300 million.

With the extra 100 million comes more people who commit heinous acts.

You probably are correct.

However, people prone to violence of this extent tend to be quite willing to continue this behavior.

Capital punishment would limit their recidivism. I think that should be the goal of capital punishment.

Some people have revealed themselves to simply be too dangerous to take the chance that they might escape back into society.
