Now you see why getting SFA to the A Conference was so important to the Catholic Schools. It gives them a super-majority (greater than 2/3s) over McDonogh/Gilman, who I'm fairly certain cast the 2 dissenting votes.
That being said, I'm not overly sad to see the playoffs go. It was pretty messed up to begin with with the seedings and the point system I don't think anyone ever figured out.
However, I don't think the MIAA is a good fit for McDonogh or Gilman long-term. Anything they want to push that CHC/Loyola doesn't want will be shot down by those 2 schools and the other 3 Catholic schools, who are pretty much CHC/Loyola's lapdogs. I think the time has come to form a new league of like minded schools, spearheaded by McDonogh/Gilman, maybe on a more regional scale.
