Last time I checked, the agent works for the player, not the other way around. Joe can dictate whatever he wants. The agent will still get his $300,000 either way. Why would Joe want to be stuck with a real bad (4-12) team every year because he broke the salary CAP bank? He could be on a great team almost every year and still be a multi multi millionaire.

You must have never heard a player talk about his agent. Most players defer contract questions to their agent and generally take their advice, it's why they pay them.

So it's okay to overpay Suggs, Ray Lewis, Haloti Ngata, Ed Reed. But Joe's obligated to give up a "hometown discount". Sorry. That dog don't hunt. The Ravens created their cap problems; it's on THEM to sort it out; it's not on Joe.
