Default AACO Police Target Drivers? For Ped-caused fatal accidents

Hey, I'm all for increased traffic enforcement and there are plenty of idiot/dangerous drivers out there that should be punished, but in response to four recent pedestrian fatal accidents, where in each one the pedestrian was found to be the cause, the police launch a program targeting drivers. That's fine, but seems a disingenuous response to the identified recent problem, namely, pedestrian caused accidents. Where's the effort towards pedestrians? If not awareness campaign, how about indentifying problem areas and improving crosswalks, etc?

How is this driver-targeted program going to do anything to address the identified concern?

Its like looking for something you lost in the dark under a street light because you can see there.

I agree there are many other things they should be doing. Targeting pedestrians that improperly cross. Traffic studies on how to get pedestrians safely across these busy streets instead of figuring out how to get another 10,000 cars on that road.

It isn't, and it is not designed to.

Its purpose is to show the public that the government is doing something about a problem. (Doesn't matter if the solution has anything to do with the problem or not).
