Not sure. I'm sure of this though. I can't stand the prevent defense - always hated it. And Pees seems to play more prevent than other DC's we've had. If we rush 3 against Manning on Sunday, Peyton will have a field day. You pressure Manning and he's beatable; let him stand back there with time to eat a sandwich, and we're done. If that happens with Pees on Sunday, please get rid of him.

Layoff the off the drugs dude. Maybe the picture would be much clearer. The man has the imagination of a pee. He has no scheme in his book to stop neither the pass or the run. Look at Ray's face on the sidelines. He can't believe it and nor can I. They just shake there heads and look down to the ground on 3rd and long after being converted. I don't know what games your watching but it obviously isn't the Ravens. Maybe you should watch NFL replay a bit more.

    "You can't/won't handle the truth.............lol

I do respect your loyalty to the team.

Hell no! He's terrible. Zone defense in the red zone, playing the DBs 10 yards off the line of scrimmage. He's the worst DC we've ever had

Not worse than Mattison, IMO. He's bad; but not that bad. At least he DOES blitz sometimes. And his use of the 3 man rush is much less than Mattison's, IIRC.

You're joking right? If Mattison is such a horrible defensive cordinator "in general" how do you explain this track record:

    Illinois (GA)
    Cornell (DL)
    Northwestern (DL)
    Western Michigan (DL)
    Western Michigan (DC)
    Navy (DL)
    Texas A&M (DL)
    Michigan (DL)
    Michigan (DC)
    Notre Dame (DC)
    Notre Dame (DL)
    Florida (DC/DL)
    Baltimore Ravens (DC/LB)
    Michigan (DC)

And how do you explain the much improved Michigan defense?

In his first year as a defensive coordinator Greg Mattison, Michigan's defense went from being ranked 107th in scoring defense in 2010 (35.2 points per game) to being ranked sixth (17.38 points per game) in 2011.

    Terrible defensive cordinator

NFL and college are somewhat different.

You're joking, right? All of those teams are COLLEGE teams. He BELONGS in college, not the NFL. He totally sucked at the Ravens DC. Just about everyone who watched him agreed with that. So please...stop embarrassing yourself, okay?

Yup because his pass defense was ranked (1st yr) 8th and (2nd yr) 21st in passing yards. And in rushing defense was 3rd (1st yr) and (2nd yr) 10th.

Wow. You must really have a lot of free time on your hands. Enjoy your stats; they're meaningless. He was a bust, and everyone knows it; especially the Ravens organization. That's why he's no longer here. That's the most telling stat of all.

    Done.

As you are still posting on the forum. You must have alot of time on your hands also. Very defensive for someone who thinks the are correct.

In all reality tho i can't decide who sucks worse, Mattison or Pees. Both of them are terrible and that "bend but don't break" defensive philosophy is complete and utter trash unless you have an offense that can put up 40 to 50 points a game like the 2007 Patriots

Uhm...I wouldn't even begin to bother to go dig up COLLEGE stats when I'm talking about how someone did IN THE NFL. THAT'S what I'm talking about "having too much time on my hands".

    Done.

    Again.

Quote straight from John Harbaugh who would disagree with you prior to Mattison leaving.

"Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh knew. That's why he popped into defensive coordinator Greg Mattison's office that day in January and told Mattison he couldn't leave. Things were too good in Baltimore"

The Baltimore Ravens hired Mattison as their linebackers coach in 2008. The next season he was named d-coordinator. During his stay in Baltimore, Mattison always fielded a great defense. While coaching the Ravens his defenses ranked #2, #3 and #10 in total defense for the NFL.

Under Rex Ryan, the Ravens defense was all about pressure and they were very good at it. Mattison came in and the pressure disappeared. It was evident in games and in the declining stats.

I gave you full proof stats of him as a d-cordinator at the NFL level and you said they were pointless. What other stats do you need?

I'm addressing the point that Mattison was "terrible". I won't argue that the pressure was gone. But Dean Pee's is not a better cordinator.
