1 dead, 1 critically injured in double shooting in Annapolis - Police investigating shootings in Robinwood community
Or have they always been dangerous, as this article below is from 2008:Police were called about 9:30 p.m. to the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue in the Robinwood community in Annapolis for reports of shots fired, said Sgt. Eric Crane, a police spokesman.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, Crane said. Crane said he could not immediately release the ages, genders or identities of the victims.
Robinwood's trouble has long history - Public housing residents struggle to overcome spate of killings
In the last 4 years, it looks like nothing has changed, crime and robberies seem to be acceptable behavior, drugs are rampant, and murder is not uncommon. On this block of Tyler Avenue in Annapolis, 17-year-old Kwame Travon Johnson was fatally shot Sunday night. A day later, a bloodstain and a flower marked the spot where his body was found.
On this block, Timothy Hayes Marsh, 48, was fatally shot a month earlier. The family of the Severna Park resident, who was found slumped over the wheel of his 2001 Acura Integra, speculates that he was in the area to purchase drugs.
And on this block is where Frank R. Jones, a 38-year-old electrical contractor, lived before turning up dead last month on a Davidsonville roadside. As recently last February, Jones was convicted of drug possession.
Why, in the Capital City Of Maryland, is this going on? Why aren't the police making a dedicated effort to eliminate the perps and make this a safe place for low-income residents? Don't they deserve a safe place to live?
