Default Suspect Sought in Armed Robbery of Benson Post Office

What did he get? Five bucks and a book of stamps?

On a more serious note, if the USPS is in such dire financial straits, why are Post Offices like Benson even still open? For those unfamiliar with Benson, it is a small area between Bel Air and Fallston (think Jones Junction auto dealers and the State Police Barracks at the intersection of Bel Air & Harford Roads). They do not deliver mail. They take mail in, have PO boxes and pretty much sell stamps. They should have been absorbed by the Bel Air or Fallston PO long ago.

My apologies to Spot72 for beating him to a Harford County crime story.

I've been saying this for years, it's far worse on the lower Shore. Every tiny town between Salisbury and Berlin has their own........... stupid!

Just so you are aware the benson po does more revenue than any other po its size. Trust me that if they were not bringing in sales than they would have closed the benson po just like they are cutting hours with the other small post offices that are not producing.
