Churchill has a great deal to admire, but putting him forth as someone who led in the sense of taking people where didn't want to go is foolish. By the time Churchill came to power, the British were already at war, and getting whipped. The Dunkirk evacuation took place just weeks after Churchill took office. What needed to be done was painfully obvious--it was a matter of getting it done.

A good example of leadership that guides people to the right path would be Lincoln.
Freeing the slaves: a good thing
Having a strong dictatorship type central federal government: not so good

Yes indeed. But of course the British were already at war before Churchill took over. So there was no need to convince his people of doing something they weren't already doing, which was your claim.

On Sept. 18, 1787, after Benjamin Franklin signed the Constitution in Philadelphia, a woman reportedly asked him: “Well, doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” To which Franklin replied: “A republic, if you can keep it.” And regarding maintaining that republic, Franklin is reported at another time to have said, “when the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”

When you are being bombed night after night people start to rethink their decision. Churchill continuously reassured them that saying the course is the right path for Britain.

Every thing Liberals touch, they destroy. Many of our once great modern cities are now crime ridden, in ruin and decay. California is the New Titanic and sinking fast. Socialist Europe is in financial ruin, while being demographically displaced. Their religious tolerance has worked to destroy Christianity and replace it with an intolerant Islam. Their multi-culti-diversity campaign has caused more friction and violence, and America to be more divided. Their anti-racism programs has become little more than hateful anti-white diatribes. They claim "open mindedness", then try to restrict free speech, ideas, and association, that doesn't comply with their Liberal Ideals. Their 'Great Society' has destroyed the black family, and increased black illegitimacy and crime to new heights. Their socialist home ownership programs helped destroy the economy. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Now their advise to the Republican Party suffering from an uncontrolled 3rd world, government dependent immigration, is to import more Democrats!
