Men are straight shooters = women are abrasive.

I could never understand her in the mix for SoS because I've read that she's not so crazy about being in NY away from her family.

Actually Senator Snow made the comment that Rice was abrasive at times and very defensive. Even Rice in several interviews admitted she was abrasive, and her friends also agreed. A person who is known to not mix words is seen as a straight shooter. I'm sure Rice is a straight shooter as well.

Where was the gross negligence you speak of? Not defending a vacated Consulate in Benghazi?

Is Senator Snow a Democrat of a Republican? And if she is a Republican would it not be in her interest for John Kerry and not Susan Rice to be SOS?

I don't understand why democrats are against Kerry for SOS. It is not certain that Brown could win his seat. Didn't he just lose his re-election bid? Why does everyone think he would win now? I personally don't like John Kerry and would prefer he not be SOS. But that is based on his presidential run and legislative record. He might be a very good SOS. I am not crazy about Hillary Clinton the senator and her political views, but I feel she was a very fine SOS. Bottom line, if Kerry is the best person for the job, shouldn't he be considered for it despite the political ramifications of potentially losing a seat in the senate? The SOS job in times of dealing with middle east turmoil, Iran's nuclear desires, and North Korea's rocket launches is probably a little more important than a partisan seat at home.

And if Obama is the politician people believe him to be he will select a Republican for Sec. of State.

Byng, if you are going to be an ardent supporter of the Democratic party then you need to start using the name change to the Benghazi Consulate by the WH. It is officially referred to as the Diplomatic Facility.

Wrong again my friend the words used were "US Missian in Benghzi" and that name change was made to emphasios the fact that the Consulate had been vacated by the State Department weeks earlier and at the time of the attack was being used for covert operations by the CIA.

CNN just reported the investigation into Benghazi which will be coming out soon clearly indicates serious gross negligence in the lack of security prior to the attacks.

Hopefully he will select the best qualified person available for the job.

Seeing that I have never been a big fan of Susan Rice (I just don't like the way she was swift-boated by the Republicans) my own choice would be John Kerry, Chuck Hagel or Bill Richardson.

“The only edit that was made by the White House and also by the State Department was to change the word ‘consulate’ to the word ‘diplomatic facility,’ since the facility in Benghazi was not formally a consulate,” Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told reporters aboard Air Force One.

Interesting. But seeing that the report is not out, how would you suggest they know before the Congress of the United States?

Do you have a link for that?
