A 12-year-old girl in a wheelchair was detained for nearly an hour at DFW Airport while trying to get through security.

Shelbi Walser was traveling with her mother on Sunday for a trip that's become routine. The seventh grader lives with a genetic bone disorder and was on her way to Florida for another rare medical treatment.

She's never had a problem flying, but this time Transportation Security Administration agents claimed she had bomb residue on her hands.

An hour? Luxury, she was bloody lucky. I've spent more than 2 hours in a hall full of people trying to get through just two security stalls at DFW, another five minutes and I would have missed my connecting flight. Oh, and at least she had a seat.

In the article the mother explained that the girls hands are in frequent contact with the wheel chair's wheels and it did not seem to occur to the TSA person that the wheels were probably the source of whatever was on the girl's hands.

She is not the first child that has been traumatized by incompetent TSA agents.

I have not and will not fly because I find it humiliating to have to submit to some stranger inspecting my body.

If I can't drive there, I ain't going.
