Default Hit & Run arrest - 19 yo charged with 1st Degree Murder

On Thursday, Baltimore police announced that they had taken a suspect into custody. Jewel Onyen Jamie Lucas, 19, of the 2900 block of Woodland Ave. was arrested late Wednesday and charged with first- and second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault.

Investigators soon found the car she is suspected of driving: a 2001 Mazda 626 LX with Maryland license plates. They also found damage on the car they believe came from striking Barnes, police said.

Police credited tips from the public and media attention with the arrest. Maryland court records show that Lucas was arrested on a second-degree assault charge on April 19 that was not prosecuted.
Excellent work, Balt City police! Another violent murdering scumbag off the streets.

Will it ever end? And no blaming the police. There's a shock.

Police said Lucas did not know Barnes but that some sort of altercation occurred between the two at the gas station just before Lucas struck him, police Sgt. Anthony Smith said.

"There is no prior relation between the two," he said.
Anyone who reacts so violently needs to be removed from society.

He must have "disrespected her authority"

She needs to stay in prison a long time. Can't rehabilitate crap like that.

Trial will take place in Courthouse on Calvert Street. You know strange things happen there all the time. Never a slam dunk for prosecutors.

I doubt very much that she will be convicted of either first or second degree murder. Manslaughter at best.

No way. The intent was clearly there.

Looks like the princess had an assault charge earlier this year but it never made trial.
Hopefully they do the right thing here.
