Disk info and status

Downloaded Crystal Disk Info (the Standard Edition), ran it, and got some pretty good info on the hard drive. Happy to see the Health status of the hdd is Good (in blue). Also interesting was how many times my disk has been powered on and has been active since I first got it (Power on Count and Power on Hours). Lots of other info also. The temperature is good to know too... don't want it getting too high (mine was 27C).

If someone bought a used hdd that had been cleaned, do you think the Power on Count and Power on Hours would show up for the life of the hdd or would that be erased?

Btw, the program is good for Solid State disks too.

It depends on what you mean by "cleaned". Merely erasing/re-formatting the drive should not erase S.M.A.R.T. data. Changing the firmware on the drive _might_.

Not all HDD manufacturers and their models adhere strictly to the S.M.A.R.T standards, so you have to research it for each drive.

They usually say they've been formatted (on ebay).
