PGA denies discussing or even being contacted about the sale of MASN. he also said MASN isn't for sale.

I realize you were at the signing of the Magna Carta and back then lawyers had a decent reputation...I think Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice was the beginning of the bad press for lawyers...I'm sure you read that when it first came out....angelos epitomizes the bottom feeding, ambulance chasing vermin that infest this planet....

I wasn't the one at the signing - it was my grandfather. He and I discussed it often when I was in my youth. He said the signing was basically nothing more than a good excuse to get away from Grandma for a few days and have a few beers with his "buds."

Grandpa also influenced Abner Doubleday long ago.

If he were still alive, he'd be urging the O's to sign the Impaler as a major upgrade over the happily departed Mark Reynolds. He was a great judge of talent and it passed on to his grandchildren.

When a bottom feeding ambulance chasing vermin becomes respectable, our world is lost.

Unless his influence is merely local. Then that locality is lost.

May I conclude from your post that you plan to resign from the Angelos Fan Club? If so, you'll be missed. Rest assured that you'll always be welcome back when you recognize what a great leader we have as the O's owner. He was one of the prime reasons for the O's stupendous turnaround in 2012 which was foreseen by so few of your fellow and lady posters. Did you know that I was one of the few who predicted the surge?

Is there really a chance someone buys MASN from Angelos? Not just the Nationals share. Which does nothing for the Orioles. I tend to think Angelos likes being "plugged in" and wont just take the money and leave town. He wants control that comes with a revenue producing TV station. Same reason he wont sell the Orioles.

The Orioles sign a longterm deal with MASN which pays the Orioles what they are getting now with a small increase guaranteed each year, but giving MASN exclusive rights to O's game for 20 years.
    Angelo's sell the O's
MASN is worth more than the O's, makes more money with less risk..

Angelo's cares more about MASN than the O's

Any deal would be for both franchises. Fox Sports would set up a single RSN for the region but would negotiate separately with each team for their individual rights. Any sale would include MASN hardware and facilities. My guess is that Fox Sports would operate on a single channel just like MASN but would have a FSN2 also just like MASN during the baseball season. MASN will then cease to exist.

If Comcast Sports becomes the buyer then CSN would probably add a third channel to the Baltimore/Washington region with an additional standby channel in the event that the Capitals, Wizards, Nationals, Orioles, and college teams played at the same time. Any sale would include MASN hardware and facilities. MASN will then cease to exist.

Again, any deal must be for both franchises because MASN cannot survive with just the Orioles. Angelos admitted this in 2005 when he said that any deal must allow the Orioles to piggyback onto the Nationals. Angelos needs the demographics of the huge Washington Metro area to sell advertising. He admitted that an Orioles-only RSN would ultimately fail if the Nationals were allowed their own RSN.
