Default Key witness killed after club argument

Avon Ball, witness to an earlier incident in which he was shot, killed on his first night "off the box."

But police said he didn't make it home. He and a friend were involved in an argument early Saturday at a downtown club, and detectives believed they were followed to the intersection of Madison Avenue and West Preston Street, where they were shot multiple times.

Ball, 26, died at an area hospital and his unidentified friend was critically injured. Sgt. Eric Kowalczyk, a police spokesman, said a "person of interest" was being questioned.
Apparently, he had gotten into an argument with a man back in 2007, and several men followed him to his house, where they pulled a gun on Ball. His friend said "shoot me," and they did, When Ball ran, they shot after him and he was injured.

He testified against two men, who were convicted, one of murder, the other of assault, and the men received stiff sentences (75 years for assault, 2 life terms plus 175 years), but their conviction was thrown out by the Court of Special Appeals. They were supposed to stand trial next year, and Ball was again slated to testify. Now he can't.

Still, the article doesn't mention why he was on the box. Could it be from his conviction in 2011 for First and Second Degree Assault, which he was given an actual prison sentence of four years (after taking off suspended time)? Why wasn't he in prison?

At one time killing a witness would be a big deal. Even in Baltimore.

I'll reserve judgement until Spot72 creates a thread about this crime.

Just like Africa, the weak are killed by the strong, only in Baltimore it is people doing the killing if you can call them that. I guess Ball didn't realize that the guys he sent to prison were getting a new trial. Now a couple more killers will be free. That animal culture in the city is pathetic.

Default Police charge Baltimore City man in Saturday killing

    http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/mar...,6322462.story

    Tion shot Avon. Avon died.

Thankfully, the police arrested the Tion to put a stop to his violent behavior.

Tion Bolden, of the 5200 block of Reisterstown Road in the city's Woodmere neighborhood, faces 10 charges in the case and remains in police custody. Police announced his arrest Sunday, after saying Saturday that they were questioning a person of interest.

Avon Ball, 26, and a friend were both shot multiple times at the intersection of Madison Avenue and West Preston Street, said police, who responded to the scene about 2:27 a.m. Ball died at an area hospital while his unidentified friend was listed in critical condition, police said.

Ball had just finished with court-ordered home monitoring related to an assault conviction the night before, his father, Avon Ball Sr., confirmed, and was looking to get his life back on track.

Glad they made an arrest. Maybe we'll find out if Ball's killing was related to his being a witness, or if Ball was just prone to getting into arguments with armed people.

Maybe Tion was "standing his ground" and shot Avon in self defense?

Or maybe Tion shot him for "Walking While Black"?

Or maybe Tion was a racist who just wanted to shoot a black man?

I think a march should be called, where's Rev Al, Jesse, Shabozo, or any the Usual Race Baiting Crew of scumbags who descend on crime scenes of black victims to further exploit the families and their agenda?

    Probably both.
