    Default 6-foot, 6-inch, 220 lb transgender joins women's college basketball team...at age 50

In the days leading up to the game, people had plenty to say about 6-foot-6-inch, 220-pound Gabrielle Ludwig, who joined the Lady Saints as a mid-season walk-on and became, according to advocates, the first transsexual to play college hoops as both a man and a woman.

What the naysayers do not know, she said, is that Ludwig is not the same player she was as a 24-year-old male. She has less muscle and height, because of female hormones she takes. And at her age, she has to work to keep up.

This is more entertaining from the standpoint of a 50 year old trying to run up and down court with a bunch of kids.

So who cares. If she's good enough to make the team, then who is to say that its wrong. He has become his true self, God Bless him.

There are rules for transgendered players, and she has followed them. Her teammates are supportive. And what's with the OP calling college-aged women girls?

They should play Baylor and see whose she-man is the better player.

    The article says she has:

The California Community College Athletic Association had another hoop for Ludwig. Because its rules base gender on a student’s birth certificate, she would need a new one. Ludwig, who had sex reassignment surgery over the summer, petitioned a judge and obtained her papers on Nov. 30.

    Lawsuit waiting to happen.

Either this gender-confused person -- who is probably pumped full of a whole pharmaceutical suite of hormones and who-knows-what-else -- falls over from a heart attack after pretending to be a 20-something-person yet in reality is age 50. Or, the gender-confused person uses some of that 6-foot, 6-inch, 220-pounds of male bulk [that wasn't either chopped away or modified through chemistry] to smash into a much smaller, college-aged female, hurting them and opening up the door for a gross negligence lawsuit against the team/college for attempting to try and pacify this person's hare-brained scheme.

thanks Matt, I missed that ........

I was focusing on this statement .......

As someone living as a woman and taking female hormones since 2007, Ludwig was eligible to play in the NCAA. Transgender student athletes who have taken medication to suppress testosterone for a year may compete on women’s teams under a policy adopted last year.

doesn't change my opinion that someone just taking hormones shouldn't be eligible to compete with women ......

Actually, her muscles are "modified through chemistry." Transgender hormone replacement therapy, which is usually a testosterone blocker and estrogen, causes muscle loss and fat retention. The whole "pumped full" of drugs is pretty ignorant. It's actually really simple to replace your sex hormones.

Also, she doesn't have "gender confusion." She knows she's a woman and that's all there is to it.

As for the lawsuit nonsense, yeah right.

doesn't change my opinion that someone with a penis shouldn't be participating in women's sports .........
