    Default Let Flacco walk

He's 27, and still plays no differently than he did as a rookie. The only thing consistent is his inconsistency, and he's just not the guy. Eat a year, go 4-12, and restart with someone else. Signing him longterm is like guaranteeing no superbowl for the duration of his contract.

    whereas I don't disagree

that pick 6 should have never happened

    absolutely atrocious play calling

I'd rather see the coaching staff and it's leader go first

I wouldn't mind them resigning him but they would be nuts to pay him elite QB money which would be $15-20 million per season.Could care less if another team would pay it he's just not worth it.

Caldwell made the right move. Harbs can't get in his face sitting up in the press box.

It's more like $18-$20 mil for elite QBs, Matt Schaub got $15 mil over 4 years from Houston back in September and he's not elite.

OCf said all you have to do is call screen plays which renders their pass rush useless

Be patient. Joe still needs a few years to reach his full potential.

    I agree !
We know what we're going to get in the next 5 years if the Ravens keep Joe.
And Joe isn't going to accept what he's making now.
The problem is who do the Ravens aim to get ?
Could a trade with San Diego, Rivers for Flacco be possible.
Perhaps both QBs could use a change of scenery.
What about the 49ers and Alex Smith?
Let's be honest - Joe is an "average-to-learning toward-below-average" QB.
People says he's not in the Top 5 (of QB) but he's in tbe next tier. I disagree. Especially with several first- and second-year QBs surpassing Joe. I would put Joe somewhere between 15-20. And he's not getting any better. Teams and Coaches have adjusted to Joe and Joe hasn't been able to counter-adjust.

I don't why the hell people are lobbying for Alex freakin Smith. He's not the answer either unless Jim Harbaugh becomes the head coach here and he brings the 49ers defense.

Alex may come here if he doesn't have to compete with Harbaughs imaginary qb competition. His brother Jim may help our cause to help save his brothers job and help himself with his own qb controversy.

Who do you replace him with?

Alex Smith will suck here without Jim who is the better Harbaugh coach. When are you going to ****ing realize that. Alex Smith will not dramatically change life for the Ravens, find another QB option who can take the Ravens to the Superbowl.

If the only options available are Alex Smith at $10 mil per season or Joe Flacco at $16-17 mil I would take my chances with Smith.

Maybe the Ravens will pull an NBA move and sign & trade Wacco to a team desperate for a NFL-ready QB. Then they can take that team's 2013 1st round draft pick and choose another QB to start over with.

So can the Ravens trade coaches too? A new QB isn't going to make John Harbaugh coach better and Ozzie hasn't been at the top of his game in recent years when it comes to the draft. Getting rid of Cameron and possibly Flacco won't fix all of the Ravens problems.

It's the O-Line. No one would be effective behind that line.

Once again you seem like the last little soldier to stand up for Ravens mediocrity. The problems won't all be solved but a major one would be addressed. If Alex where bought here he would at least bring a fresh offensive approach with no deprograming required from the Ravens stagnant playbook. I'm amused at your stubbornness. A true Ravens homer at all cost.

The poor execution of most of the blown plays starts with Joe "Flakky" Flacco.

The Ravens will stick with Flacco. Alex Smith is certainly not the answer. When you look at the areas that need to be addressed, O-Line, D-Line, pass rusher, line backers, Ed Reed, etc., Quarterback position will not be the highest priority.

Flacco did not look good today, but as others have said, who is better that is available? They never draft high enough to get a shot at one of the great QBs coming out of college. He remains a second tier QB - Not Top 5 in the league, but around 9 or 10th best.

Still good enough - and has been plenty good enough for them to go 14-2, 12-4, etc.. Stay with this guy and improve in other areas. He is a plenty good foundation for success.

Curiously, he didn't take many shots downfield today - which is his strength. Maybe they weren't available - it is hard to tell watching on TV.

    HTTR!
