A controversy only exists if both are healthy and available to play and there is a decision to make. Do you really believe if healthy, RGIII will be on the bench and Cousins will play?
I get what say about RGIIIs style and probablity of getting hurt, but that's different.
Agree completely.
He needs everything perfect around him to be successful and if they give him what he reportedly wants they are going to be so hamstrung in regards to the cap that they aren't going to be able to add any players other than the usual bargain basement cast offs that other teams don't want anymore.Every offseason it's the same story where these bloated salaries keep them from adding any young talent because they're always right up against the cap.
Unless Flacco agrees to a deal that's reasonable I would be willing to settle for an Alex Smith or a Matt Flynn for a season or two until they could groom a QB for the future.
Not to mention STILL telegraphing throws.. after 5 years...has anyone ever seen Joe even pump fake.
I was looking at Ben last uight in their loss to Dallas thinking... wow if we had a qb of that caliber. Ravens could've had another 2 Sbs by now...
It's time for Joe to go...Ibut that doesn't mean Taylor should start...![]()
You must not be paying attention as I saw him pump fake yesterday. I just wish he had done so on the pick six and then threw it away.
And didn't Ben throw an ugly pick in OT that cost his team the game? Not saying he isn't better than Flacco, he clearly is, but he ain't perfect either.
I tell you the Ravens QB who NEVER pump faked and that was Boller. I think he did so once his entire Ravens career. Probably why he had so many passes knocked down at the LOS especially the way he telegraphed his flat footed throws.
If you get rid of Joe then you will pick on the new QB the same way, common quotes:
"I wish so and so was as good as Ben and Brady"
"I wish so and so was smart as Peyton"
Joe's so called replacement could be worst and then what? You'll want to run him out of town too, it will never stop until you guys stop expecting the world from Joe. I feel sorry for this so called new QB, I thought Philly was tough, I never thought Baltimore would reach Philly bad. I'm glad Eagle fans are suffering, they deserve it after the way they ran McNabb out of Philly.
The QBs in this draft are weak, but it doesn't matter because this isn't the year they'd be drafting their franchise QB anyway. Next year or the year after is when it'll happen, if it does at all. As for who, that's impossible to say right now because we can't predict how current freshman and sophomore college QBs will play in the upcoming few seasons, but if you really think there isn't anyone better than Flacco in college right now, you're kidding yourself.
As for the QBs I'd take over Flacco:
1. Brady
2. Peyton
3. Rodgers
4. Brees
5. Eli
6. Rapist
7. Ryan
8. Newton
9. Dalton
10. Schaub
11. Rivers
12. Kaepernick
And if you want to include rookies, I'd take RG3 and Luck over him too.
Here's what I trust: I don't think that Joe is a Superbowl winning QB for his career.
I think we've all seen enough out of him at this point to know what he is - a middle of the road (for a starter) NFL quarterback with a great arm, bad decision making skills, and lead pillars for legs, that can be counted on to have 4-5 great games a year, 4-5 games that make you want to kill yourself, and does just enough to make you think he's going to figure it out one day. Lets stop with the misconception that he's lead the Ravens to the playoffs every year. He's been on the roster, sure, but he's not doing the leading. The defense did early in his career, and Ray Rice is doing it now. There's a reason why there's been mention after mention about Ray Lewis grooming Rice to take over leadership in the locker room when he retires. There's a reason it's not Joe.
The Ravens could absolutely do a lot worse than Flacco. There's no doubt about it in my mind. However, if he's not good enough for a Superbowl victory, then there's no difference in the long run. He's not what they need. Move on and find someone who is, even if it takes a while to do it.
I suggest that they not waste their time on someone who's not going to win them a Superbowl. I'd rather suck for a few years and have a chance at an absolutely top-flight rookie QB in the draft than continue to lose in the first or second round of the playoffs with a guy who's just good enough to not lose his job.
That's not an excuse. The fact is Joe put us in position to get to the SB and it wasn't his fault we didn't get there. Whether or not they would have beat the Giants is irrelevant and we'll never know that. The point is if Evans makes that catch we're not talking about this today. Peyton Manning didn't win a SB in 5 years
First your weak sissy *** wouldn't survive a few losing seasons, dude you gave up on the Orioles in no time during their run of losing. You honestly expect me to believe you will be ok if the Ravens lose for a few years until they find a QB who can win a Superbowl? You are Skip Bayless through and through, you have no business talking about football. My friend who is a Giants fan was dumb like you when he swore up and down that Eli would never win a Superbowl. I told him never say never and to still have faith, he literally cried trying to convince me that I was wrong. Two Superbowls later I'm his idol.
Of course Flacco should start against the Giants.
However, if by half time, Flacco is performing miserably, then Flacco should sit and Tyrod should start the second half.
Flacco has to get the message that he can loss his starting job. Right now I believe Flacco thinks that Harbaugh will not bench him under any circumstances.
Do I think Tyrod is a real NFL QB, not really, but he is all we have.
