Wink Target Corp plans to hire 200 for new Baltimore location

Target Corp. plans to hire 200 people for its new Canton store scheduled to open in October.

The 135,000-square-foot store will be part of the planned Canton Crossing Shopping Center on Boston Street. The store will include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods.

The long-awaited Target will hold job fairs two months prior to the store’s opening. Candidates can also apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks located in all Target stores three months prior to the new store opening.

I'm not sure how the wink appeared.

Decent news. Target is perfect for the tools in Canton. Cheap pretty stuff.
Target jobs are OK. Did Baltimore pass that "living wage" law for retailers?
I know a few years ago they were talking about requiring living wage for retailers over a certain size.
Obviously the store will require extra security but I am sure sales will be brisk.

When shopping at Target, be sure to buy the holiday paper goods.

Oh, okay. If lived in Canton I would be excited (minus the traffic).

As far as cheap goes, Target is much better than Walmart.

Target isn't cheap. It is more expensive than Walmart -- and I know because I am at my local Target at least several times per month. Plus, Target gives people the ability to feel superior that they don't shop at the evil Walmart.

Did OWE'Malley take credit for the new jobs @ Target yet?

I wouldn't say "superior"... I'm just happy that none of my money goes to Walmart.

Besides, Target has a much better class of customer, on average.

None of your money has ever had to go to Walmart -- ever.

It's more a case of classism against WalMart, its employees, and shoppers.

The snooty set thinks it's low brow.

I wonder will the Canton Target be like the one at Mondawmin? The Mondawmin Target always has a uniformed Baltimore Police officer inside the store every time I go there.
