10,000 evil lunatics each year in the US alone

If taxes can be raised on tobacco and alcohol, they can be raised on firearms...

    10,000 schools were shot up?

If more and more revenue to the government should solve our problems, I say we should be in paradise right now given the haul the government takes in each year.

NRA told people if Obama was elected all our guns would be taken away, people out there are actually stupid enough to believe the NRA
    SO
You asked several times for your question to be answered and I did, I also posted my question on some NRA actions, so which ones do you support or do you not support those NRA efforts
Since I'm a southpaw and only own and use left-handed or ambidextrious weapons, I think that all right-handed weapons should be banned since I have no need for them.

You left handed people have been a problem for far too long.

Are you that dense? The US averages 10,000 gun related murders per year and nearly 100,000 shootings every year.

Lol, no. You're putting every murder in the country in the same category as this tradegy? There have been 4 similiar events recently, which granted is 4 too many, but to lump this in with a drug gang murder or some other killing seen all too often on the TV these days (if it gets reported) is ridiculous.

I knew what the 10K number was when I saw it, I just couldn't believe you classified all killers the same way.

All murderers are lunatics. I'm not going to sit here and say "some murders are acceptable" as you seem to be doing...

Anecdotal evidence is the best kind of evidence.

I lived in on Boston St for two years and someone was shot in the head across the street from my apartment, at the Captain James.

Captain James gets pretty hood on weekends after the bars close.

I live in Baltimore County and hear gunshots everyday but I live near a shooting range

There is no reason to answer misleading and loaded questions about the NRA. You're off topic.

Take out all the drug related and gang shootings and I wonder what that number would be. The idea that this is some wild west situation where you can't step outside your house is just not so for 97% of the country.

So you also think the level of handgun violence in the US is acceptable?

Not in the inner cities. I wonder how you plan to get handguns away from those people.

AR-15 SEMI AUTO rifles are flying off of dealers shelves here. One friend had been thinking about buying an AR-15 rifle, but delayed it until today.

All the news talk about banning the hated SEMI AUTO rifle has convinced many area residents to buy now before they are all gone.

Friend went to a small gun shop, and the owner said sorry, all sold out, sold 7 rifles today alone, no more on order, do not know when a resupply can be made.

Same friend went to a larger shop, where they had over a dozen articles, and promptly bought the 16" barreled M-4 variant. I had advised to get the standard 20" barrel, fixed stock but A3 variant with rail and detachable top carrying handle, to allow for plinking at tin cans using iron sights, but having the ability to easily mount a high scope, which will probably happen one day.

Naturally, the buyer has a perfect clean record and easily passed the background check pronto. Yet another hard working, tax paying citizens shucking out hard earned dollars, while we still have a valid second amendment, for now at least.

Next phase will be for me to help coach them on proper handling, shooting and probably zeroing the married couple's new toy.

They, like many others I suppose, are somewhat apprehensive about the future, and obviously wanted some security of their own, and not totally dependant on civilized society and 911 as the single, sole source of security.

The plus side is that both the city and state benefitted from the added sales revenue.

    And you know this how?

It only needs to stop one death to have worked.

In the meantime, it's a welcome revenue stream that could be earmarked towards better security at schools, etc.

Tax the hell out of gun owners!
