All the news talk about banning the hated SEMI AUTO rifle has convinced many area residents to buy now before they are all gone.

Friend went to a small gun shop, and the owner said sorry, all sold out, sold 7 rifles today alone, no more on order, do not know when a resupply can be made.

Same friend went to a larger shop, where they had over a dozen articles, and promptly bought the 16" barreled M-4 variant. I had advised to get the standard 20" barrel, fixed stock but A3 variant with rail and detachable top carrying handle, to allow for plinking at tin cans using iron sights, but having the ability to easily mount a high scope, which will probably happen one day.

Naturally, the buyer has a perfect clean record and easily passed the background check pronto. Yet another hard working, tax paying citizens shucking out hard earned dollars, while we still have a valid second amendment, for now at least.

Next phase will be for me to help coach them on proper handling, shooting and probably zeroing the married couple's new toy.

They, like many others I suppose, are somewhat apprehensive about the future, and obviously wanted some security of their own, and not totally dependant on civilized society and 911 as the single, sole source of security.

The plus side is that both the city and state benefitted from the added sales revenue.
All the more reason to enact tax legislation on guns and ammo - soon!

Tax the hell out of gun owners!

Shouldn't we tax Jap and German cars even more?

They're made of metal so molecular structure wise they are very much the same. Now food stuffs being taxed in Md that's a different issue.

    Jap?

Your true, racist colors surface. Excellent.

Why am I not surprised from mr right-wing, gun nut.

This isn't gonna be your year. First - the black man gets re-elected , and soon, mega restrictions and/or new taxes on guns and ammo.

    Stay tuned....lol.

Well, if you must tax people, here's a sample of low tech, simple lasers to attach to your favorite toy for shooting at nightime varmits - in full compliance with appropriate state regulations regarding the taking of typical 4 legged creatures:

    http://www.beamshot.com/laser_sight_1000s.html

Got one mounted on my Remington 7400 deer rifle. In full compliance with Mr. Schumer, Ms. Fienstein and Ms. Pelosie. Has only a 4 round clip magazine, well short of the 10 round limit of 1994 era.

And unlike magnums today, it is only chambered in the 100 year old plus 30-06 cartridge, a rather mundane round to be sure.

Sure, "Jap 7 Arisakas" were actually pretty cool. Why not come and tax them too?

    http://www.chuckhawks.com/7-7mmArisaka.htm

The 7.7x58 Japanese Arisaka (7.7mm Jap) Define "gun nut".

We should tax amateur athletes since we subsidize their medical care for injuries.

We should also increase taxes on alcohol since we subsidize the medical costs for drinkers and their illnesses.

Smokey perhaps we should turn our entire paychecks over to Uncle Sam and then await our allowances.

Taxes on alcohol need to go up 10x

If it prevents even one death, it's worth it

And, I don't drink, so I am all for it

Tax lottery tickets 10,000%, get the dirtballs out of line so people can buy milk without waiting an hour.

What you righties don't get is the whole concept of guns vs. everything else. No one brought up alcohol or amateur athletes, it's just not relevant.

But it is just as emotion-driven and illogical

Smokey is not a rightie. And if he were so be it. I thought liberals preached tolerance for all.
