So the Orioles break their losing streak and make the playoffs, thereby bursting your little Oriole's hater bubble. But you still have all this hatred stored up inside, and now you need somewhere to manifest it. Enter a 3 game losing streak for the Ravens, and PRESTO!!, now not only are the Orioles "a living joke" but now the Ravens are too!!!
Boy it doesn't take much to get on your bad side.
You don't know what they are going to pay him.
You are merely perpetuating the same behavior you did last year with the Orioles.
The overly negative, melodramatic, exaggerating, reactionary hater based posting that you've exhibited in your post history.
Which means it is embedded into who you are. The first sign of adversity and your immediate reaction is to start debasing things.
Joe wants elite money. He's not going to be paid less than 15, which is still too much. If you think he'll take less, you're delusional.
Yer right. Teams win games and not the players. Why didn't I think of that? Yer a cottin' pickin' genious!
The Ravens were in the playoffs for 5 consecutive years in spite of that no good fer nuttin' Flacco. He had nuttin' to do with it. Who does he think he is to demand a pay hike? The Ravens are better off without him.
The Ravens would be better off just paying someone off the street $25 a game to play quarterback. They can throw in all the nachos they can eat if they make it to halftime. That would save the Ravens a whole lotta cap space so they could spend it on a good punter. I heard someone say ours is not worth keepin' either.
Yippee!!!!![]()
It's weird that Ray Lewis and Suggs and Reed and Ngata have been here before Flacco, yet we have only consistently reached the playoffs since Flacco been starting. You would think that Boller would have consistently made the playoffs...
And once again, you don't know how much the Ravens are going to pay him. So stop speculating and crying about it. If I see 18M one more time....
Did you see how many coaches and GMs were fired on Monday? Do you know one of the primary reasons they were fired? The QB. QB's are not easy to come across. When you have one that looks solid and has shown promise, it is probably wise to not give up on them (like SD did with Drew Brees).
I will wait and see what he does in the playoffs this year before I can speculate on what is a fair price.
Given that statistically he is on par with other top QBs from their first 5 seasons, and he has playoff experience, he already has a built in floor.
QB is the hardest position to fill. It shouldn't be taken lightly.
What do you pay Matt Ryan, a player who has never won a playoff game? Can you imagine if the Falcons lose in Round 1 this year? After they gave up their entire draft to get Julio Jones to make plays for Ryan?
Actually I thought that was a response you could actually agree with. Go figure. Thanks for the laughs today. I had fun, but it's time to pick up my son. You go on saying all the things you say. You are entertaining to say the least. Again, thanks for everything. This forum can get kinda boring at times.
Yes, he's going to get that kind of money from somebody. That's probably the going rate now. Eli Manning got 16 million per year back in '09, before "he" won a second Superbowl. And yes, Joe is every bit the QB now that Eli Manning was in August of '09. Frankly I don't think there's much difference between them now either regardless of how many "rings" Eli has. Eli's TEAM got him that first ring, in a year where they got in as a WC... and after Eli had committed 29, read that again, TWENTY NINE turnovers. Nicks, Cruz, and Manningham blessed Manning with some chunks of "yard after catch" gifts that Joe would probably KILL for last year (http://www.newsday.com/sports/footba...t-up-1.3469961). He didn't break the now cherished 4000 yard mark until his 6th season. He's thrown 20+ INTs twice. He's committed about 30 turnovers in a season twice. He's eclipsed 60% (just barely) in four out of his nine NFL seasons.
If you can't grasp it, I don't know what to tell you. It's a team sport. Joe's a very good QB. He's not Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. So be it. He can win several rings. Nobody wins them alone, and simply winning one doesn't justify the "elite or not" label that so many fans want to give players. If you've played a team sport of any kind, at any level, you might grasp that...
