    He sure did. But it took an injury to Fabian Washington to get the Ravens brain trust coaching staff to get him into the damn games!!

    I thought he was playing pretty well towards the end of last season but he seems to have regressed a bit.Kind of like Oher has.

    Jimmy Smith is an example of why I think NFL fans get too excited about the draft.

    A lot of college players are heavily hyped through their college careers to enhance their position on the draft.

    I think the Ravens fell victim to the hype on Jimmy Smith.

    Smith was playing a little better late last season in nickel / dime packages. He's shown virtually nothing this year. The injury problem will buy him more time most likely in terms of a go / no-go decision for a second contract. But with his decent size, he needs to be a physical CB who keeps guys from getting a clean release and then runs with them. By many accounts, he doesn't want to play physical and would prefer to be a read and react cover guy, which is hard because he's not quite quick enough and doesn't exactly read well yet either...
