Oh yea ole LBJ great for racial equlity. Out of wedlock birth rate for african americans, was 20% when he started his so called great society, now around 70%. Multi generational misfits who cannot get by day to day without big daddy government to take care of them because husbands and fathers no where to be seen.
For those unfamiliar with "Boxing Day", (the day after Christmas) the holiday developed because servants in UK were required to work on Christmas Day, but took the following day off. As servants prepared to leave to visit their families, their employers would present them with gift boxes.
Another theory is that the boxes placed in churches where parishioners deposited coins for the poor were opened and the contents distributed on December 26, which is also the Feast of St. Steven.
As time went by, Boxing Day gift giving expanded to include those who had rendered a service during the previous year. This tradition survives today as people give presents to tradesmen, mail carriers, doormen, porters, and others who have helped them.
Actually, the quality of teaching wasn't that great given that any child with a disability was put out of the mainstream classroom and there weren't any tests to measure a teacher's progress. Kids have changed, but so have the demands put on teachers. If you even had a clue what you were talking about, you wouldn't have made such a silly little comment.
If homeland security wants to pay for armed guards, awesome, but I'd have to say good luck with that! As far as mandatory school attendance, I've said for a while that constant problem students whose parents refuse to come to conferences should be expelled and made to go to school online (even poor kids can go to a library, and if their parents don't bring them they get locked up) but I think we both know that's not going to happen, unfortunately.
Again, where did I tell an untruth, silly little comment? Were there some lousy teachers..... sure. I will say they were for the most part dedicated and had control of their class. A students parents were only a phone call away to help remedy a situation and the union was something that was near unheard of. Actual studies at that time showed a students #1 worry was "the bomb" now it's probably how many Uggs a student owns. It's probably hard for a student to stay focused when a teacher readily admits he flunked biology prep and makes that his identity.
Okay already, back to the subject.![]()
