    Default Qualifications?

Who is running the camp? How much is it to do? What experience do the trainers have? What school's are they affiliated with? Do you have people on staff who are trained in CPR/First Aid and the use of a AED.

Just check out NLN's history. There is a misconception that NLN is CHC only but that is completely false. We assist student-athletes from all over the city, state, and region. We are not discrediting our ties with CHC as we do have relationships with many other schools as well, but this is truly a false assumption associated with our company.

For example, look at the most recent list for this upcoming crab bowl All Star Game Baltimore Roster. There are several student athletes who are and/or have been an NLN trainee that is not from CHC.

    Kennedy Frazier- CHC
    Marvin Gross- Dunbar
    Mike Jones- Milford Mill
    Derrick Kittrell- New Town
    Kyre Hawkins- Dunbar
    David Owens- City College
    Nicholas Bonaparte- Dunbar
    JP McManus- CHC
    Isaiah Gills- Harford Tech

We have an abundance of trainers that fit all the qualifications you mentioned. We also have former NFL players, D-1 Athletes, and seasoned coaches assisting. When you say what coaces are attending....Are you referring to college or high school?

If you are referring to high school programs we tend to have coaches from most of the local privates. At our previous events we had coaches from Gilman, Calvert Hall, Good Counsel, Mount St. Joe, Loyola, St. Johns, Spalding, and many more.

I have been to a few NLN events and have talked to other student athletes and they have said nothing but positive things about their experience.

On a side note - with respect to the Newtown, CT massacre, maybe the name of the event should be changed.

I have no problem with NLN or any other training business,, But when you name drop then then I have questions.. What exactly did NLN do to turn this list of kids into Crab Bowl athletes? Were they studs to begin with or did NLN turm them into such?

Again I have no issue with training programs and them doing their thing but when they advertise minors as their creations then I expect details as to how ?

The problem I have is all these programs claiming kids that have been with them one maybe two years that were allready studs.. I also know many of these programs will comp stud athletes for free just so they can claim them in their advertising... That is not appropriate for minor athletes in my opinion.. unless you can verify how it is you made them so..

I want to hear about average kids that NLN or any other training business had "turned" into top players whith their methods.. So if you are going to list names tell us how long they trainedwith you and what they were when they started and what they became because of the training..

Its a little of both. Sometimes we get great athletes and sometimes you have to mold others into a great athlete but no matter the case THEY GET BETTER THROUGH NLN than when they came in the door.

We have success stories on individuals that we have worked with to make them better. We have success stories of individuals that only played a yr or two of high school football and are playing major D-1 football now. Most of the student athletes in recent years have come to us while underclassmen in high school. Lets be realistic here, its very seldom that kids are considered studs as freshmen and even if so their skills still have to be fine tuned to be a star athlete. We make no false claiming. To be honest the kids embrace the brand and what it represents more than us marketing it.

We do not take ALL credit for anybody's progress and development but we can attest to having an influence. Sometimes people just try to find the bad in any situation. Even if the young men were great athletes there are an abundance of great athletes in recent years that we just that....Great high school athletes. We are now working to help prepare them for the Next Level and help make their goals more attainable ......But somehow that is still not enough......

We have posted video with commentary from the parents, kids, coaches and athletes speaking highly about our program and its influence but that is still not enough.

    Have you seen them????

I appreciate your response and you said some very good things..

Understand my own and others responses were genuine concerns. When you "choose" to advertise for free on a forum such as this there will always be arrows. It comes with the territory. When you hand out flyers, pay for radio or TV ads then you can do that and not hear or read about the concerns.. That said I hope you take my comments in the context in which they were presented.

For example if I was in the lucky rabbit foot business and chose to advertise on a forum while claiming ten D1 offered players wore my lucky rabbits feet in high school then I would expect a certain dertain degree of skeptisim...

That said I admire the fact you will make your ads then respond to the cristism with some good fact but be mindfull of being defensive and throwing out the " you are just haters" kind of rhetoric as it wil turn most folks off.. Truth is most of us are not haters we just have the same concerns for the kids and their exploitation as I have expressed.....

Keep up the great work with the kids just remember to trust that what you are doing is right and the proof is in the pudding.. Good pudding will sell itself...

Could this be something that could jeopardize their amateur status -- accepting a benefit on the basis of their athletic talent?

I know the NCAA was looking pretty hard at these "high school-affiliated" 7-on-7 teams last year, perhaps they might look into these "free if you're a stud training camps" as well?

Sounds like the money would have been better spend on SAT tutoring and classwork help.

Great high school athletes who can't produce a passing score on a simple SAT exam are an embarrassment to the high school they attended.

Looking at the comments made above by NLN its obvious what they do for their kids. Prep them for the next level more from an athletic perspective. You claim that its about the money for them but can you provide an creditable organization in the area that does athletic training for the same price or cheaper???? Please inform me so I can pass the message....They only charge $25 .....You cant be serious talking about the pricing....lol

Then you mention Nic Bonaparte who consistently represents the organization and trains with them. Have you ever been to an actual NLN training? I've seen them work with Bonaparte before and he gets a lot of value from the organization. Both Bonaparte and Gross have been getting knowledge from the NLN staff and even Dunbar alum Tommy Polley. IF YOU WATCHED THE VIDEO THEY POSTED YOU WOULD REALIZE THAT NIC's FATHER IS ONE OF THE PARENTS SPEAKING HIGHLY ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION.....

Do you know why debo, tay, and ernest are not playing college ball? If so, you wouldnt blaim NLN for that? You do realize it is guys from CHC playing with them as well?
You honestly sound like a bitter parent who kid didnt get to scholarship where you projected him to go.

It appears that you have some personal issues with NLN but that can easliy be resolved because they are all based on misconceptions. If you would like to be added to our NLN listserve and/or attend an event we as a staff are open to have an adult conversation with you about your issues.

Let us also make the disclaimer that the initial purpose of NLN previously posting the crab bowl rosters was to show the diversity in the organization. We did not want to beat our chest on this board. If that was the case we could have done that for several other All-Star/Team forum topics. We simply wanted to show that although we have ties to CHC, we are not a CHC only organization. We have student-athletes from all over the city, state, and region.

Also, it appears that some view NLN as the organization who claims to have all the tools and answers for the student athlete. We never claimed that if your an NLN kid you automatically go to a D-1 school and get all A's but we are making major strides towards developing a strucutre that can be an outlet in all major facets for the student athlete. Being a part of NLN does not automatically get any student athlete a ticket to a D-1 school but it can increase your chances due to our resources and knowledge.

Please join our listserve so you can have a clearer perspective of our previous achievements and future accomplishments. Maybe then you can see that we are doing community service. Maybe then you can see we have focused on adopting a youth organization. Maybe then you can see that we now have SAT prep courses and tutors to help our struggling students. Maybe then you will have a more realistic perpective of the organization prior to you stating the outlandish statements you presented earlier.

My organization huh? LOL...Okay cool...If that makes you feel better...I stated before that I am supporter of the program and speak from experience but your statements appear to be more opinionated and are based on more ignorance and hatred.

Your response did not address what I spoke about but you danced around it with more attacks at NLN. All you did was rant and divert. At first you claimed it was just about the money....But you couldnt provide any program that did what NLN does for a cheaper price....

Then "YOU" brought up Nic and his position as a OL....Only to hint that NLN could not do anything for him...I then pointed out that his own father is in the video speaking highly about the program and its benefits.....Your rebuttal then is another excuse. Just sounds like they cannot do any right with you regardless
