    Default Sound familiar?

It looks like Baltimore is not the only place for fans to self destruct.

This is a comment on the article and sums it up best. Fans in Pittsburgh are throwing everyone under the bus, just like fans here:
Ben publicly took the blame for the loss due to that interception. But frankly, I don’t see how you can expect him to have a “perfect game”, nobody does. Unfortunately, the recent games have been very close and any mistake was magnified. The Facts are: There is no running game. The OL is replete with back ups and people playing out of position. The secondary is in even worse shape and allowed the Cowboys to come back. The biggest mistake in the Cowboy game was Brown’s fumble on the punt return. The Steelers might have been able to close it out right there if he held onto the ball. Finally, some of the calls (and non-calls) by Tomlin this year have been questionable.

Ben is about the last person I would blame for the Steelers situation right now. I also don’t think Haley’s play calling is a significant negative either, although I have scratched my head on some of the plays and could understand if Ben was upset. I think they should have gone to the no-huddle earlier and often. The injuries are the biggest issues right now. This weekend’s game is a must win. No excuses, they have to get it done against the Bengals.

I have a feeling many NFL fans who are the most critical of players never actually played the game and/or don't realize what it takes to play. In football there are two opposing forces. In each play, one force conquers the other and in some cases the forces tie (incomplete passes, no gains, etc.).

Many of these fans have Madden football and fantasy football to further skew their views on reality. I was visiting my cousin's home last weekend and their kid was playing a football game on Play Station where he was winning 145 - 0. On every offensive play he scored. While it's fun for him in a virtual world, the real world doesn't play out like that.

Now...there you've done it. You know children read these threads (In fact, I'm convinced most of the posts in this forum are posted by children. ) and they will see your post and have questions.

It's like that Radio Shack ad...(except I've BEEN to Radio Shack, and it's more like: "You've got questions? WE'VE got questions!")

(Seriously...I often end up leaving a RS store with more questions than I entered with.)

    But I digress:

OKAY KIDS. THIS WAS JUST A JOKE. THERE REALLY IS A SANTA CLAUS!!

    OKAY?!!!!!

(It's such an overwhelming responsibility to post on these sports message boards. Sometimes, I forget.)

I did not follow the link for the whole post, but the comment you pasted doesn't read like throwing anybody under the bus to me. It reads like an analysis of bad performances and plays, but without the bitter fire him, bench him, or trade him stuff that would make it nasty.

Fan bases react instantly to real or perceived shortcomings by their team.

They complained about not throwing to Miller in the second half but Miller killed Dallas in the

the first half and they adjusted their defense to take that away. The NFL works that way.

The fans scream for slants and crossing routes but they aren't that simple unless the defense is set up to allow them. It is a great chess game.

My mind just hasn't been right since all this heavy duty Flacco bashing started.

The comment I posted was from a rational IMHO Pittsburgh fan in reaction to the crazy remarks.

Great post. It's as if some fans think the real games are like the imaginary Playstation Madden games and it is easy to execute plays against an NFL defense.

I feel the same way about the crying fans. They act like the players are not trying and don't care. Anyone who has played a sport above the rec level knows how much work goes into this "GAME".

The fans also don't seem to understand the guys on the other team are pros too. They act as though the Ravens have the most talent in the league hands down. Never mind the fact that an all pro player, James Harrison, made a play to get around Oher and strip Flacco. That had nothing to do with it. Flacco just fumbled because he sucks.

Maybe a Ben for Joe Deal. Like the Eagles did with the Redskins. Sonny for what's his name.
