are you being serious? Have you looked at some of the fascist warmongers and corrupt gangsters that have won the NPP?

The media is supposed to be objective and to help keep the government in check.

I realized (as this award shows and has shown for some time) that the media is just a mouthpiece for the government, not an objector to its policy--which is a shame.

As long as one understands this, US policies and objectives are more easily understood.

I liked Newsweek and was a subscriber for years. However, I noticed a decline in its quality the past 5 years or so and canceled my subscription. Now that the Daily Beast owns it, I don't even read it online. Time Magazine has suffered the same fate IMO. Both magazines want to be the news version of People or US magazines. For those of us who want a magazine of mostly well-written news articles, we are denied anything close to it.

I used to subscribe to Newsweek as well for well over 10 years. I agree, total decline and canceled it.

Is that not what people read the articles in Playboy for?

Historically, the Presidential election has been the biggest news story during Presidential election years and the person who wins the election is usually the Person of the Year.

And by "election" I don't just mean election day, I mean the entire 10 months of campaign coverage.
    As I said

Which in my own humble opinion makes the award mean nothing

It happens every four years and he was running against Romney.

Had the republicans put up a strong candidate, he would have lost.

No, it's the front page of a rag that will soon circle the drain.

The government is closterflock from top to bottom and he holds the top spot.

Color me not impressed. Signed Hater!

Winning a Presidential election is a big deal no matter who wins and in 2012 there was no bigger news story than the election. Stop hating. Life's too short
