So when people say that the government should enforce the laws that are already on the books, I hope they thank the NRA for putting up road blocks for law enforcement.

The NRA's "gun-first" mentality does more harm than good in terms of responsible gun ownership. They provide so much firepower for the anti-gun crowd that a reasonable dialogue is nearly impossible.

No, but are you saying NRA controls Congress?

Leadership is about taking responsbility for accomplishments and failures, not making excuses.

Not the entire Congress but they have influence over enough Congress members to influence gun policies and regulations. Not having the support of the NRA isn't beneficial to Republicans and some Democrats in conservative districts.
