Sounds like to me Michael Jock knowing he had a gun felt empowered to intervene. IMO owning and carrying a gun comes with higher level of responsibility to not even allow yourself to get into an altercation like this. Jock should have kept his mouth shut and let the employees handle this. Throw the book at Jock. We don't need a "Dirty Harry" in standing in line in every pizza shop.

The real lesson here is not to be a jerk, and not to provoke people for some prideful argument. I personally like to stay out of situations that can escalate to lethal force, but some people feel the need to put that awesome macho performance on. It's negligent to escalate if you feel like you can go farther because you're carrying a firearm.

Also, if you're carrying a weapon you're either quietly assessing or applying lethal force.
