The Baltimore native and Maryland Democrat, who had been the most senior member of the U.S. Senate without a committee gavel, was suddenly in line to head the influential spending panel following behind-the-scenes maneuvering for chairmanships that played out after the death Monday of its former chairman, Sen. yea, that also explains why nearly all americans declare that congress is "worthless but turn around and declare that "my representative is OK". say that in 50 states and you get the same worthless congress you complain about over and over. Democracy without thought can be kinda dangerous.

I am sure this will get Maryland money. But I really hate that the system works that way.
I don't really have a problem with BM. My father worked on some of her early campaigns and she was always nice when I met her. I just remember lots of smoking and loud laughter.
I was on a plane with her a few years ago and noticed that she did not fly first class.
