Congrats all
Countdown until Greyhound Alum shows up and goes ballistic over some Gilman player not being named to the team........3, 2, 1.......
Not one Gilman Olineman? Come on GA what is up with that?
I personally believe that Ukandu from Gilman should have been consensus All State on the OL. But I think the biggest snub on the consensus team from Gilman was Miles Norris not being on the 1st team or consensus team. But four Gilman players making the team, can't really complain about that.
I think the media did a good job this year, especially with the Consensus All-State team.
It is ridiculously hard to decide on OL All-Star team picks because it is the 1 position with no quantifiable stats. That being said, I can't argue with the 5 selected although I could make a case for 4 or 5 more OL.
I do wish there was a slot on the All-State team for a true FB. I realize most schools don't use the FB anymore, but Powell from Middletown deserves some kind of recognition. He was a dominant FB leading the way for a Consensus All-State RB in Welch.
Congrats to all and especially to the young men from Calvert Hall:
1st Team: JP McManus and Delando Johnson
2nd Team: Kyle Levere and Kennedy Frazier
3rd Team: Garrett Epple
Honorable Mention: Color Kuhns, Robbie Jones, Erik Evans, Jake Soreano,
Cole Atkinson and Stephen Kelly
To those moving on, thank you; it's been a pleasure watching the past few years. To those returning, keep digging your well and go get 'em next year!
Thanks for the props for Jess Powell! Has paved the way for Welch for two years and two state titles, classic fullback mold. Might add, he was just shy of 1,000 yards this season (971) with 15 TD's. Put the team on his back in Week 2 against Brunswick when Welch was out. Ran for 180 yards and 2 TD's. Exemplifies Middletown program, whatever it takes for the team.
