The idea that gun bans will stop these shootings is fanciful nonsense.
Except for the fact that it has worked in other countries around the world, but we all know that you don't want to talk about that.

How would a gun ban work here with millions of these "assault weapons" already out there? Do you think they can and should confiscate those guns?

Or worse some scumbag like Sheriff Stone who is scared of his shadow,
funny isn't how the ones screaming out 'facist' are the ones who seem to want to live in a police state with armed guards at every school, movie theatre, shopping mall, and church.

I thought we already lived in such a world. We had an armed police officer on the premises when I was in high school and that was in the 90's. Not that I necessarily it's a good thing or sensible practice.

It never would work. There are probably enough guns already out in this country to fuel a perpetual black market.

Of course what the advocates of such laws fail to realize is that incidents like Newton are extremely atypical and unrepresentative of gun violence in America. People go on shooting sprees like this in virtually every country. The real difference is they don't have the same combination of hard prohibition and urban poverty that we have.

    Same here.

But I'm also too smart to try to put an actual number on it.

Smokey kept edging up so I figured I'd put a limit on it so he wouldn't keep upping it until I said that's enough.

Excuse moi, but police states do not recognize their citizens right to bear arms

Secondly, I OPPOSE GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS, ie, minimum security prisons. But that type of fascism IS a fact of life. While children under 14 are in the government's clutches the school authorities have a responsibility to protect them.

I have a right to life and to defend the same in Theaters, malls, etc. If the management of those establishments refuse to let us carry firearms then they must protect our lives.

    Capisce?

That 's a Pho King eternity. No wonder the motherflocker was able to kill so many - that's a GD eternity to a criminal.

And they want to disarms us...the gall

    .

He was able to kill so many because it happened in a sleepy CT town where no one in a million years would have expected it to happen. I truly believe that even if teachers had guns, the result would have been the same, because no one would have been ready (not to mention, he was wearing a vest.)

The state of Florida is getting ready to issue it millionst concealed weapons permit this month.

You would think that with one million citizens walking around the state of Florida on any given day, plus at least 100,000 LEOs (state/local/federal) working in FL daily, that a criminal would be encountering victims carrying self defense weapons often.

Somehow criminals are constantly murdering, robbing and hurting people who are not armed, all the time.

We often hear how crime will go down, because people are packing. I have to assume that FL criminals are very smart, with an uncanny ability to select people who are not armed.

While it is true that Florida allow its citizens to conceal carry , many of its residents are former New Yorkers and New Englanders who are not comfortable carrying weapons to defend their lives.

Secondly, there are many prosecutors and "judges" who are fascists and will deny due process of law to those who defend their lives. Floridians see how the "judicial" system has done everything possible to railroad George Zimmerman,

I don't know exactly waht they were afraid of before, but with 4 security professionals, I doubt they worry a lot now about security.

You have a point, but consider this.
One of the facets of self defense is situational awareness. Another is appearance. If you walk with slumped shoulders and a downcast gaze you mark yourself as someone not willing to stand up to aggression. You certainly don't want to issue a visual challenge to every person you meet on the street, but a slight smile and quick nod of greeting that shows you are aware of your surroundings, doesn't convey that.

People that teach CCW classes will tell you that. Don't give the impression that you are an easy mark. They will also tell you to avoid placing yourself in situations that lead to escalation and one of those is not to go to places that are potential trouble, if at all possible.

People that make a living by committing criminal acts are good at evaluating, (read that as sizing up people), those people don't want a scene, they want a quiet quick score and then split. They will avoid a target that looks like it would be difficult to overwhelm or take by surprise.

Now it's true that sociopaths, tweakers and the like don't follow that path because, quite simply, they are not out for the same reasons or are desperate enough for money that causing a visible disturbance is not a deterrent to them. Then, there are only two courses of action available to you; either submit and hope that an irrational criminal won't hurt you, or fight back with enough countervailing force to drive him away.

I could see IND or St. Francis Academy (just to name two) having off duty officers on site.
