Default Cop Shoots Dog, Faces Felony Charge

A Commerce City police officer faces a potentially career-ending felony charge after the shooting of a dog last month that was captured on video.

The Adams County district attorney is still investigating the incident but said Thursday one of the officers involved in the shooting of 3-year-old Chloe, a large mixed-breed dog, will be charged with one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Officer Robert Price, a Commerce City cop since June 2006, is on paid administrative leave. Two other officers who were at the scene of the shooting have been removed from patrol duty during the investigation....

Its a good idea to video all public police actions when possible.

Here is the video. It is very long. But the dog was not aggressive. I hope that cop gets serious jail time.

Don't cops have pepper spray? My stepfather was a letter carrier and they always carried some type of spray. And he probably encountered more dogs than police.

You'd think. The dog had been tazed, and they had it on a catch pole. That's when the cop decided to shoot it not once, but several times as I understand it. I've only seen the video the news would show. I don't care so much to watch the youtube video.

Why is he on paid admin leave? The dog wanted out and was not going after anybody. I wonder what brought the whole thing on to begin with?

Yes, stupid women that run over dogs should have their car banned. Matter of fact I bet MORE dogs are killed by cars than guns every year.

Stay focused, it was an idiot male that shot a dog, several times, I might add, after tazering it twice. The idiot should never be able to hold another gun.

Who's saying he wasn't an idiot. Unless that mutt was frothing at the mouth it seems closing the garage door might have been the logical thing to do.

Still, idiot women with cars kill thousands of times more dogs than guns every year. Ban cars.
