Unfortunately, they pushed me out despite my attempts to stay in. Baltimore's new archbishop (Lori) was my bishop in CT. When gay marriage was being talked about in CT, he had the K of C pass out petition cards for people to send into our senators. I wrote the bishop a letter explaining that I was a gay 19 year old who went to Mass every Sunday but that I would appreciate him keeping politics out of my church, which was supposed to be a safe place for me to be with God in prayer. He basically sent a letter back saying "These are our views, deal with it."

"You can only “hate the sin and love the sinner” by committing three sins. First, you must judge that the other person’s activity is a sin. Second, you must judge that the other person is a sinner. Third, you have made yourself a judge of sin, even though as a sinner, you are not qualified to judge sin."

Like the way the Pope "deals" with the overwhelming majority of American Catholic Priests who are Gay and of that 70% depending who you listen to at least half that are sexually active? That does not even count the sexually active Priests in the 30% of Heterosexuals.

Hypocrisy best describes the Catholic Church because in practice it is the 'Gay Church' of America but the Pope knows that without them the Catholic Church in America would cease to exist. So he turns a blind eye to the truth and sits in his ivory tower lecturing on the immorality of Gay marriage and how it will destroy society! The mind boggles.

Sin is the abomination in God's eyes. John 3:16 says "God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son so that whosoever believes in Him...". That hardly sounds like the act of a God who thinks anyone is an abomination. Everyone is offered the free gift of salvation but that means acknowledging sin and seeking reconciliation with God.

It is not so much the sin itself, as we are all sinners, but our refusal to ask God for his forgiveness for our sins is what will lead us to eternal damnation. This is the Unpardonable Sin.

Scripture says the wages of sin is death. The blood of Christ took away those sins. He says "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me." We either accept that or we don't.

Exactly mom. And the way some interpret the scriptures we might as well all give up trying to please God.

Nobody. Scripture says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

Wonder if we will hear what a selfish act this was from Mom?

And the way some interpret the scriptures, we may as well stop acknowledging that the Bible was only a book written by man that has a historical context, hence why it is silly to use it to deny gays rights in 2013

I have such little time and patience for indulging the lemmings when they attempt to inject their 'scripture' into my life via legislation.

I was pointing out your ignorance of scripture. If you plan on talking about it, it helps to have some remote clue what you are talking about.

Interpret it any way you care to, because I don't.
