Default How Many Think Steelers Will Win AFC North?

The Steelers have their final two games at home against the Bengals and Browns. They have a much better chance of winning both of those than the Ravens do of winning either of their final two games. Ergo, I think the Steelers are now going to win the division. As much as I despise them, they probably deserve to do so as they beat the Ravens on their home field with their third string QB playing. The Ravens IMO don't deserve to win the division.

Of course there is also a possibility of the Bengals beating both the Steelers and Ravens and winning the division. While I think they can undoubtedly beat the Ravens the last game at home, I find it a daunting task for them to beat the Steelers at Heinz field.

I think we have 1 more win up our sleeve - tomorrow is the more likely scenario. Giants are also uneven and hopefully we'll see a shuffled o-line giving Joe a bit more time to make some throws. I truly believe that if our offense can show anything, it will energize the players we do have left on the defense.
Last week, they had the wind taken out of their sails by halftime due to offensive ineptitude.

Why will the offense be any better this week? I just don't see it. I also was hoping the defense would be bolstered by the return of Ray but now that isn't happening either. No Ray, no Pollard, Suggs playing with one arm. I just don't see us stopping Eli.

I don't understand the "deserve" to win thing--- if the Ravens win one more game then they deserve to win the div, if they don't , they don't.
The only way the Steelers "deserve" to win the div. is if they end up with the best div. record.

    Yep.

The Ravens don't deserve it since they have been healthy all year unlike the poor, old Steelers!

As Clint said in Unforgiven..."Deserves got nothing to do with it."

I agree whole heartedly. In the scheme of things, neither team "deserves" anything. Your record says a lot about who you are as a team. Regardless of who may win the division, neither team is going too far in the playoffs anyway. I realize each team had there share of injuries but both organizations for different reasons underachieved this year. And unfortunately, there is no other way to express this fact.

Confused. If the Steelers win today I thought that gave us the north regardless what happens the rest of the way? That Pitt can only win the wildcard if they beat both Cinci and Cleveland. Help.

If Pitt wins out and we lose out, Pitt wins division. If Cincy wins out and we lose out. Cincy wins division. If we win one more game we win division. Currently the Ravens have a 1 game lead in division.

    Week 16

    Cin @Pitt
    NYG@Balt

    Week 17

    Balt @Cincy
    Pitt@ Cleveland

If Bengals beat the Steelers today then of course they would fall to 7-8 and eliminated from the playoffs. Right now Bengals up 7-0 thanks to Ben throwing a pick 6 to Leon Hall, Ben isn't looking to sharp today so far. Bengals offense hasn't done much yet either, long way to go.

Update: Tom Brady 7/16 with 2 INTs against the woeful Jaguars so far today, Jags up 13-6. NFL is crazy, anything can happen (don't give up on the Ravens).

Not this year. Steelers had some bad losses this year. Lost to Oakland. Lost to Tennessee after leading by 10. Lost to Cleveland. Lost to San Diego at home. Those four losses were all to inferior teams. The Cleveland game was behind Batch. The rest were with Roethlisberger. They knocked themselves out of the playoffs.

Ben pretty much blew the final two games all by himself. I guess he's not elite any more either.

Because the Giants were vulnerable in the secondary. And, we took advantage of them. They are a reeling team and we caught them at the right time - but we also went for the kill and didn't let up.

Wow, glad I was so wrong in my fear. Ravens put it all together today finally after Steelers choked away their shot at the playoffs. Seems like they peaked after the Batch game beating the Ravens. AFter that, they played like chumps.

    I'm going on record now...

The Steelers WILL win the AFC North this year. No way Flacco, in all his ineptitude, can manage to salvage the season (or the division) at this point.

    Bet the house on it...
