I've been saying the same thing for quite some time now.....looks like some others agree.
If he is, that means Ed Reed won't be franchised. Where does that leave Future Hall Of Famer Ed Reed ?

Ed Reed will not be a Raven next year unless he agrees to a contract near the Vet Minimum - significantly lower than the $7-$8 Million he's getting this year. Its the end of the line for Ed - the money can be better spent elsewhere.
What the hell are they talking about? Why in the WORLD would they tag REED?!!!
No story here, folks. Keep moving.

Ed Reed could wind up in New England. Belicheck has always praised him as one of the best players in the game. But he would have to lower his contract demands. NE isn't about to break the bank for any one player. My guess is that Pagano and Indy will give him a contract closer to what he wants.
The question is... who really is going to pay him the money that he wants based off of his performance this year? I certainly understand him shying away from contact because of his neck and other injuries. But, that isn't the only negative in his play anymore. He really has left his Cbs out to dry with not much help over the top. He doesn't have that speed to recover like he use to. (Father time) Reed will be one of my all time favorite Ravens.
Ed Reed's career as a quality, game changing safety are over. He hasn't been that player for over 2 years. The one fault that John Harbaugh has is that he's a hard head and as persistent as he is in keeping McKinnie in his cement box, that's how resolute he's been in keeping Reed on the field, despite knowing full well how dreadful his performance has been. If you have any sense in your head, you let Ed Reed walk at the end of the season. It kills two birds with one stone- the Ravens get rid of dead weight and Harbaugh can finally play who he wants instead of having it dictated to him by one of the "untouchables."
Maybe the Oz and Steve B also have say some say the the Reed matter.
Nobody in their right mind would pick up Reed for big money, he's never called out except for missed tackles. his day is over.
