MONTREAL -- A Montreal-area deacon who helped organize the Catholic World Youth Day of Toronto, Rome and Paris, has been charged with production and distribution of child pornography.

William Kokesch, 65, appeared in a Montreal court Saturday afternoon via videoconference, one day after police searched his home in the city's west end and allegedly found 2,000 child pornographic images.

Kokesch also worked in the communications office of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Agreed - you can criticize the RCC's handling of abuse (and should), but if you stereotype priests as abusers, then you unarguably believe its cool to stereotype gays as pedophiles too.

I'm not hateful or bigoted like that which is why i dont stereotype like that. Too bad that Cal and the bunch do stereotype both priests and gays. That is, if they're not hypocrites.

The catholic church hires lobbist, public relations firms and has bishops pressing legislators all in an attempt to protect child rapist in the U.S..

Instead of spending money protecting rapist within the catholic church, spend it on protecting the kids who are the real victims of pedophiles in the church.
