I do, but no, my partner is in school so we can't afford the wedding we want.

Seriously ? Dude, you sound like a freakin' girl...

You want to get married, just do it. No elaborate/costly ceremony necessary.

Intelligence. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, unlike you.

I wish you'd at least get engaged so you can call him your fiancé.

Where's the fun in that? I have a huge family that I want to be there, with an awesome waterfront party to follow!

Elope, then have the formal ceremony/gathering/party when you can afford it.

Jeez, I ought to be charging you for this common sense advice...

Careful there, kudzu. He might invite you, or ask you to be his witness if he gets married down at the courthouse.

This must be a first for you, urging a gay man to marry his same-sex partner.

Let's get this straight (pun intended).

What I'm urging him to do is be a MAN.

Real men don't care about fancy-pansy weddings.

They just get it over with, with as little pain as cost as possible.

Maybe he's not the man in his relationship?

See, the thing about gay relationships is that there are two men in the relationship.

Ha, ya right! My partner would KILL ME if I invited anyone from here. He says I spend too much time "clickety clacking" as is

Maybe Kudzu is counting on fancy finger foods and the servers will have sterile gloves on? Should they have mini Cordon Bleu I may go as the grooms grandfather.

Do you believe that collection money from a local church goes directly to the Vatican?

Don't listen to him Bmoreteacher. Real men want their wife to be happy. Let your wife do what she wants (within fiscal reason of course).

Uhh, Fang. Bmoreteacher is a man, as is his partner. When they get married they will be husband and husband.

BTW, I am still waiting for you to tell me how same-sex marriage is an attack on marriage.

Oh, I didn't know that. It's all very confusing. I knew Bmoreteacher was man. If we had just called it a "Civil Union" the mistake would not have been made.

    Fang--

We don't have separate but equal civil unions in Maryland.

Maybe if you had noticed you would have seen I suggested he get engaged so he would have a fiancé (masculine), not a fiancée (feminine).

Also, you knew Bmoreteacher is male but you were not aware he is gay?

Finally, why are you avoiding answering my question?

Matt, I wasn't responding to your specific post. So there was no way of me knowing.

Also, we've discussed gay marriage ad nauseum here and I've explained my view a million times. It is what it is and so is the new law.
