Cameron was predictable.

he called the same formations and plays in the same situation over and over and over.


When I can look at the t.v. as the Ravens come up to the line, call the motion and where the ball is going about 80% of the time correctly, don't you think that NFL defensive players and coordinatiors can do the same with gamefilm, time and pracitce?

I liked what I saw last week, but it was against the Giants D, not a top-5 defense by any stretch.....

People keep talking about the fact that the Giants D wasn't top 5 or whatever. How many times did Cameron come up against a less than stellar D and play right into their strengths? How often did he pick on a DB like Cory Webster for 4 full quarters? Whether the Giants D was top 5 or not, CALDWELL'S play calling was top tier. And that's all that matters here. Cameron rarely if EVER came out and consistently attacked opposing D's for an entire game. He also rarely if ever made proper in game adjustments. And he never took input from coaches or players, and never admitted his plans were the cause of lost games. THAT is why the Ravens offense AS A WHOLE was inconsistent. THAT is why Ravens WRs had trouble getting separation. And THAT is why Cam Cameron is gone.

so as I said, great performance vs. the giants (#30 total defense), not so good vs the Broncos (#3). This week they are up against the #6 defense-a good test assuming all healthy starters on both team play...

Common sense is also a friend. How many days did Caldwell have to prepare for the Broncos? You can try to minimize the efficiency of Caldwell's schemes against the Giants all you want. Most fans saw things against the Giants that they simply have never seen for 5 years under Cam Cameron.

But hey...believe whatever you want to believe. Here's what Dennis Pitta had to say:

“I thought [Caldwell] did a great job,” tight end Dennis Pitta said. “I think it was evident with how we played and the tempo we had. We were able to keep them on their heels a little bit.

Some of those things we’ve had up for a few weeks and didn’t get to them until this game. Other things we put in this week or last week that have been new. It’s a combination of both.”

I hope they have turned the corner.

I hope Caldwell continues to succeed as OC

I hope the Ravens win the Superbowl this year.

I hope they can continue to put up great numbers against the caliber of defenses they will see in the playoffs.....

I am not a Ravens hater, and in fact am in the Flacco is the answer camp.

Hopefully freeing him from Cameron will have the Brees effect on Flacco.

My brother-in-law a Skins fan bet me $1.00 that the Gmen would not only beat the Ravens but shut them out. That's how good he thought the Giants defense was going into the game.

Of course I took the bet and also told him the Ravens might just beat the Giants.

In fairness...'Skins fans are just not the brightest bulbs in the pack. Not as bad as Browns fans, but not a whole lot better, IMO.
