    Default Crapo arrested!

I feel bad for this guy. Not because of this arrest but because of his last name!

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/p...1#.UNfnKOR9IkQ

Idaho Sen. Michael Crapo was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving under the influence in a Washington, D.C., suburb, authorities said.

Police in Alexandria, Va., said Sunday that the three-term Republican was pulled over after his vehicle ran a red light. Police spokesman Jody Donaldson said Crapo failed field sobriety tests and was arrested at about 12:45 a.m. He was transported to the Alexandria jail and released on an unsecured $1,000 bond at about 5 a.m..

    From the linked story ~

The 61-year-old lawmaker, who faces a court date Jan. 4, apologized in a statement issued hours after his arrest early Sunday.

"I am deeply sorry for the actions that resulted in this circumstance," Crapo said in the statement Sunday night. "I made a mistake for which I apologize to my family, my Idaho constituents and any others who have put their trust in me. I accept total responsibility and will deal with whatever penalty comes my way in this matter."

He also said he would take measures to ensure "this circumstance is never repeated."
Sure he will, now that he was caught.

Just because a person is religious doesn't mean they are perfect. I don't know anyone who believes that.

It is important to strive to be the best you can be but there are always going to be times people stumble.

I don't think he is a hypocrite. I think he is a human.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Seems to come up a lot with these "staunch conservative" types.

Refraining from alcohol (as well as caffeine and nicotine) are hallmarks of LDS doctrine.

You either believe in your "faith" or you don't. If you want to drink alcohol, leave the LDS and become a Catholic.

If one were looking for "magic" icons to replace the Morman Magic Underwear, the Catholics can counter with magic beads, magic medals, and magic wafers & wine.

Add in alcohol, coffee, and cigarettes = what's a former Mormon not to like about a conversion?

It's only "some" non-believers who want people to think that people of faith believe themselves to be perfect. And if someone wants to lash out at the political party of their distain -- it becomes even larger than life.

You will find virtually nobody of any religion that follows teaching of their faith to the letter (including Catholics, Muslims, Wiccans, etc.)

Mormons using alcohol are no different than Catholics using birth control, Muslims not fasting during Ramadan or Christians not tithing!

When he gives an interview and states he does not use alcohol because he is a Mormon, then gets caught driving while intoxicated -- it makes him a religious hypocrite.

    This isn't hard to understand.

    From Merriam-Webster:

    hyp·o·crite noun \ˈhi-pə-ˌkrit\

    Definition of HYPOCRITE

1: a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion

2: a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

    This isn't hard to understand.

    From Merriam-Webster:
If you are a self described Christian (I don't know if you are) then you should obey Luke 6:37 and give up on your Saul Alinsky tactics. Alinsky specifically addressed how to go after religious people in Rules for Radicals a lesson you seemed to have learned well.

Quite true, and not at all contrary to expectations. Any religion that accepted only perfect adherence from its followers would soon find itself without any.

Default Sen. Crapo pleads guilty to DWI,

A drunk mormon Senator imagine that.

"Idaho Republican Sen. Michael Crapo will lose his license for a year after pleading guilty Friday to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge in a Virginia court."

"After the hearing, Crapo gave a statement outside the Alexandria City courthouse apologizing for his actions. The senator said he had been drinking vodka and tonic at home on the night of the offense, became restless, couldn't sleep and went out for a drive."

Crapo is pronounced "Cray-Poe". Though I don't know why his family never changed the spelling. He must have gone through hell as a kid in school.
