"The President’s 2013 Budget is built around the idea that our country does best when everyone gets a fair shot, does their fair share, and plays by the same rules. We must transform our economy from one focused on speculating, spending, and borrowing to one constructed on the solid foundation of educating, innovating, and building."

The President has given a mandate to cut spending in his 2013 Budget. Harry Reid now needs to get to work and come up with a plan to meet the President's promise for more spending cuts.

The President has offered more spending cuts in exchange for tax increases

Need to get it down to Bush Jr.'s last year in office deficit of $459B. Right now Obama's deficit is running at $1.3T. Harry needs to get to work.

Both parties need to get to work. Tea party republicans don't believe in governing...

OK , we concur. The 17 TTTTTrillion deficit was caused in a bipartisan fashion,

Reduce the federal budget to what is mandated by the Constitution (1787),

Obviously neither does good ole Harry and the Senate Democrats. Instead of worrying what the House is doing maybe they can stop twiddling their thumbs and start looking at what fat can be cut.

This was passed by the House also and signed by Obama back in Agust 2011.This is nothing new.

You might want to double check as Dems don't want these 1.2 trillion in cuts neither as

Why does everyone hate the sequester so much?

Legislators don’t have any discretion with the across-the-board cuts: They are intended to hit all affected programs equally, though the cuts to individual areas will range from 7.6 percent to 9.6 percent (and 2 percent to Medicare providers). The indiscriminate pain is meant to pressure legislators into making a budget deal to avoid the cuts.

Neither party wants the cuts but you can't say that Dems haven't voted for and passed spending cuts.

When is the last time Republicans voted for tax increases?

    Right again.

They both like pandering to the parasitic faction...which by the next election will constitute 55 to 60% of electorate.

"The government was approaching its debt limit, which needed to be raised through a congressional vote or else the country would default in early August 2011. While Democrats were in favor of a “clean” vote without strings attached, Republicans were demanding substantial cuts in exchange for raising the debt limit." Sequester (Fiscal Cliff)

Democrats wanted a clean vote with no strings attached while Republicans wanted substantial cuts. Sure doesn't sound like the Democrats want to do their fair share in meeting the President's idea of a "fair and balanced" approach, sister soul.

The same legislation you gave Dem's credit for voting for and passing spending cuts. The Budget Control Act also increased the tax by allowing Bush tax cuts to expire.

    No it doesn't. Nice try.

They passed the BCA with the intention of working out a deal to avoid the tax increases aka Fiscal Cliff

First the Super Committee failed. Now the Fiscal Cliff looks like it will fail.

If the deal is not comprehensive which includes both tax increases and spending cuts, then regardless of what short term deal they come up with before the 1st it's still a failed deal and will send us over the cliff.

For doing the same things, how can you take a position that Dems are doing the right things and Republicans are not?
