Default Newspaper Lists names, addresses of legal gun owners

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blog...opstories.html

Does the Journal News want to make it easier for criminals to steal guns from lawful gun owners?

They want the lawful gun owners to be ridiculed.

I thought criminals are less likely to burglarize a home where they know the owner is armed?

With nobody home? I'm surprised the paper did not also publish the work schedules of those evil gun owners to make it easier for the criminals.

If you own a legal product of which I disapprove, should your name and address be published in the paper?

I wonder if they'll claim responsibility when thug democrats get shot during their attempted burglary if they happen to be dumb enough to help themselves if someone is home?

It also could have the unintended effect of causing a criminal to target a home not on the list figuring there is a good chance that nobody will have a gun in a possible confrontation. Not a smart move by the paper no matter how you look at it.

This is a BS move. The paper, I guess, has a right to do that, but it's stupid and offensive. Hopefully, they'll feel the pain financially, as I would certain cancel subscription.

Florida has issued over one MILLION concealed weapons permits and is well on its way to the two million mark. 10,000 to 15,000 applications are coming in monthly.

Surely when we hit the two million mark, Floridians will be able to leave their doors unlocked, as an armed society is a polite society, at least thats what we have been told.

I know. It's almost like gun nuts don't really believe the stuff they say all the time.

And, the criminals now know the names and addresses of the citizens without "handgun or pistol permits in [the newspaper's] coverage area."

    Who should be more angry?

Now they know whose kids may be a threat in school.

That list can also be checked on to make sure none of them are crazy or have worrisome criminal records.

Do you mean the permit holders or the other residents in the permit holders' homes?

The permit holder would have been checked out before receiving the permit.

Oh of course, but as you folks say with "illegals," there is no harm in checking.

    Right?

Janet Hasson, 3 Gate House Lane, Mamaroneck, NY 10534.

Phone number: (248) 594-2197; you might also try (914) 525-1923, but the area code is just a guess on the assumption that this number is a land line.
