    Default Great Christmas present

A little background: My best friend died this past June. I'd known him since junior high and since I said junior high instead of middle school you know it has been quite a while. We shared a pair of season tickets to the Ravens.

Anyway he was a quite the music aficionado. Once when I was helping his widow go through all his stuff I remarked that someone ought to copy his extremely extensive itunes library (over 21,000 songs) since it would be a shame to lose it into the ether. One of my kids must have overheard me because my kids got a 160 gig iPod and with his wife's help, transferred the entire library over to this new iPod. It just barely fit. I will probably never have to buy music dating before 2012 ever again.

I've always known I had great kids but sometimes they still surprise me with their thoughtfulness.

Gifts like that are the best! That was very thoughtful and all the more special because it is music your friend enjoyed.

Happy holidays and happy new year to you and yours, r
    Rael.

nice story rael, the gifts that bring memories every time you use them are the best kind .........

about 10 years ago I did something similar for my sister's bday ......

after my mom died I found my sister's box of 45's with donny osmond, bobby sherman, bobby vinton, and all her favorites, etc.....

my sister has everything she needs so I always struggle with buying her something and at the time I was heavy into converting my old album collection into cd's ......

so I converted all her old 45's into CDs and we were out on the deck eating crabs listening to music on her BDay and I went in and put them on cd player .......

I think the 1st song was bobby vinton and it took her a while to figure out what was going on but you should have seen her face .......
