A Timonium man has been accused of severely beating and attempting to kill his girlfriend on Dec. 23, according to charging documents.
The suspect, Andre Jones Lewis II, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and felony possession of a shotgun, according to court records.
Police interviewed Lewis and his girlfriend, who suffered "extensive bruising to both eyes and multiple facial lacerations," as well as additional bodily trauma, according to Baltimore County police.
Lewis, 37, initially told police that his girlfriend's wounds were self-inflicted.
Wow. This gild is lucky to be alive. And I thought pot chilled people out.

I hate to blame the victim but ladies need to understand that men with violent pasts often have violent futures as well.

"A record check of suspect Lewis found him to be a convicted felon and is prohibited under both State and Federal law from possessing any firearms," the report states.

Lewis is facing a total of 80 years in prison if convicted of all charges, according to the charging documents.
