    Default Winning Streaks

I posted this on Facebook so I thought I'd post it here and might get a better response.

If your team is on a 10 game win streak (like the Broncos) getting ready to play the last game of the season would you want the win streak to continue or maybe have them lose and then refocus for the playoffs?

You play to win the game.

I'm not big on any kind of superstitions like that.

But a 10 game streak is hard to keep going and for the Broncos to win the SB they would need a 14 to 15 game streak. If they lose today they have another game regardless. If they lose after today they are done for the season. The longer the streak the chances of losing increase. Teams get cocky and heads get swelled. But with a loss it gives the team a chance to regroup and create a new resolve.

True, but the Broncos are a team and especially Peyton is a player that can go into almost any stadium and beat them as a visiting team.

Earl Weaver said he HATED to play a team on a long losing streak, he claimed they were due to Any given day but Id rather be winning.

Yes lose. How hard is it for a team to keep playing at a high level game in and game out? Wouldn't it be better to lose a winning streak during the season knowing you are in the playoffs the next week than lose the winning streak in the playoffs?

Granted the Broncos have something to play for with home field advantage at stake. After today a loss means you go home there is no next game.

Since it looks like the Broncos are going to win this game rather handily, I have a feeling that they WON'T be in the Super Bowl this year. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time but I believe they won't be representing the AFC this year.
