Can you quote that section so I can look it up and send it to the SA, because they seemed to be very confused. The one issue I see is the one on blogs. There are many, many other venues out there besides Facebook.

For example this site. What is to prevent someone being harassed on this site. When the president vested Parkville the back and forth between students was horrendous.

I do not know what the governor of any state can do to improve the medical atttention our vets deserve and should receive. But I do know that Democrats like Senator Mikulski are criticized here and she is a big advocate for help for our veterans and their families and has announced federal funding that she's sought and obtained for them. And she is in the position to do even more for them now. Certainly ~ Anthony Brown is a friend to our veterans as well.
Why should the President or Christie get kudos for helping out the victims of Sandy? Isnt that what they should do? That is like a man taking a bow for taking care of his elderly Mother.

Omaha, actually Obama left NJ after a very short stay and head to a fund raiser never to be seen again at the site.

But he meant well. To his true believers that is all that matters.

buzz ~ What would you expect him to do at the site? Stay longer and do what? What would be accomplished by returning there again and again?

He would have been criticized if he had not stopped there in person. Governor Christie supported Mitt Romney, and yet he had no problem with the president's visit or help. In fact ~ he was criticized for being too compimentary of the president and his help.

How about I just use your own post?
    from your article

vicious, viral and incessant attacks through text messages, e-mails and Facebook posts
    now from your post

The term "electronic mail" means - e-mail - not a blog site. In my thread I used the word CYBER STALKING and therein where the difference lies.

Your link is correct if the offender uses an E-MAIL ADDRESS
    Your article doesn't mention blogs

How can you be harassed on this site? If someone is bugging me here, can't I just not log on?

If that is the case you would have to leave FaceBook and other social media sites as well. You could do what you suggest but why should you be victimized like that. There are some sights that are problems.

I read the entire bills you put up and they do not deal with electronic sites like this or others. That is where the problem is.

I have a written opinion from the co. SA and he says it must deal with a e-mail and then you have a crime.

It was the way they worded the law and interpretation of same. The law has not kept up with the technology.

This is a quote from the SA: "Reference Section 3-805, that statute requires that the communication be sent to a person and that it be received by the person and that distasteful comments on a public social media sight does not constitute a crime."

Received by a person means sent by way of e-mail to a particular person.

I still disagree but I don't make the calls.

    This link will help explain.

Oct. the aid was not forthcoming to NJ in a timely fashion which is often the case. It was just another photo-op like Kamenetz using the vets.

In a years time the county has not hired one vet as per my blog and PIA request. This was all after the big hype the co. executive did on TV and other medial outlets.

That's not a problem. The law is worded appropriately. You can't harrass me on this site. I can either not log on,place you on ignore or leave the site permanenty. The exact same thing applies to FaceBook. If you send me email messages, that's a message intended solely for me. The same can't be said for a blog or a forum like this. No one should go to jail because of a blog post or forum post. That's ridiculous

One could also start their own blog and disable comments if they wanted. Or ~ like these forums ~ enforce the TOS that we all agreed to as a condition to participate and post here.

The types of comments allowed would seem to be up to how each blog site moderates content.

I would like to visit buzz' blog or blogs if he has one. I enjoy his posts here and he does not seem like some of those here who become upset whenever they post and someone disagrees.

Ham, bacon, sausage you name it, it's in there.

The pork-barrel feast includes more than $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. It also includes a whopping $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska and $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC.

An eye-popping $13 billion would go to “mitigation” projects to prepare for future storms.

Other big-ticket items in the bill include $207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center; $41 million to fix up eight military bases along the storm’s path, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; $4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida; $3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and $1.1 million to repair national cemeteries.

Budget watchdogs have dubbed the 94-page emergency-spending bill “Sandy Scam

I am an equal opportunity target.

I write or blog based on facts and receive no compensation. I also use most of the Sun links for my blogs since they are on county issues.

Precisely my point. What about the blog. We just had a 16 year girl comment on a site and they jumped all over her. She is not protected under the law no matter how cruel people are. Again that was my point on the lack of protection of the law.

Send me your e-mail and I'll send you the opinion of the SA.

That 16 yr old can just not go back to that blog site, that's not what I'd call bullying or harrasment and definitely not worthy of criminal charges. If that was the law in Maryland a lot of people who post here would be up on charges
