The Ravens Oline isn't exactly great but I agree with you Romo isn't the only problem with the Cowboys. Unfortunately Romo plays the most important position in sports for one of the most high profiled teams in sports so he's not going to get any sympathy votes. Until he wins a Superbowl he's not going to get a pass and RGIII is only going to get better.

The Dallas O-line isn't great, but the out pass that Romo floated that was intercepted was terrible. It was much like Flacco's out pass pick six against Denver. Veteran QB's shouldn't make those throws, but sometimes they do. But when you make it at a critical point in a game you need to get to the playoffs, well........

As much as I like Joe I don't think he would make the Cowboys dramatically better, Romo is in a bad situation but since he's the QB he'll get most of the blame.

They are pretty much in the same tier as QB's go. Throw Matt Schaub in there too. Same type of guy.

Flacco looked pretty bad while he was in there yesterday. Nothing that makes you feel real confident going into next week's playoff game.

Again I find it comical to compare the two. If these two guys careers were switched people would say Flacco is not even in the same league as Romo. Countless excuses are made for Romo but the fact is he can't win the big game.

Flacco has only one more obstacle to get over and that's getting to and winning a SB. Romo can't even win a road playoff game and Dallas has had as much talent as anyone in the NFL since Romo been starting.

I understand what the OP was trying to say but I wouldn't waste time on comparing the two.

actually, I never insinuated in anyway that Flacco would improve the Cowboys. But hey, maybe he would. However, my point behind the thread was...and this includes myself

We all take our turns at being overly critical of Flacco and sometimes deservedly so. Meanwhile Romo.....well in short....crapped the bed again last night against his arch rivals with some real bad decisions/throws on HIS part.

I thought the Cowboy defense (banged up as all hell) played it's a s s off and deserved better out of it's QB. IMO, those 3 INTs were all on Romo.

Not sure what you mean by having very little....Dez Bryant, Austin Miles, Jason Witten and Demarco Murray....are some real good football players.

Romo, Eli Manning, Flacco... all in that second tier (Romo might actually be 3rd tier) of NFL QB. Manning has two rings, both of which he can thank his teammates for. Dilfer has one ring, which he can thank his teammates for. Ben is a good QB, sometimes very good, sometimes terrible. He has two rings, both of which he can thank his teammates for. The concept is the same. If you really want to spout that "Eli is Elite because he has rings", then go through his performance last week in BAL and show me how he overcame his team's flaws. He didn't. He looked like Flacco or most QBs do on the road with poor pass protection and receivers dropping his throws. When he was hurried, things didn't go well. When his receivers weren't making miraculous catches and/or big runs after the catch, things didn't go well. The ones that overcome their team's weaknesses are the true "elite" talents.

There's Brady and Peyton Manning. Maybe Brees. Maybe Rodgers. Though Brees doesn't have a ring today either if Brett Favre doesn't throw across his body in to traffic in the final moments of the NFC title game. The "elite" conversation today really ends there.
