you know who impressed me the most last night ? well other than Morris ?

    Kyle Shanahan

he made superstar DE Demarcus Ware look bad.....real bad

He seems to have put RG3 in the perfect situation with his play calling this year.

    again....very impressed

Agreed. He totally neutered Ware. In public. Towards the end of the game they panned to a shot of a VERY frustrated Ware on the sidelines. Shanahan will most likely be filling one of the NFL head coaching vacancies in 2013.

We all take our turns at being overly critical of Flacco and sometimes deservedly so. Meanwhile Romo.....well in short....crapped the bed again last night against his arch rivals with some real bad decisions/throws on HIS part.

I thought the Cowboy defense (banged up as all hell) played it's a s s off and deserved better out of it's QB. IMO, those 3 INTs were all on Romo.

Not sure what you mean by having very little....Dez Bryant, Austin Miles, Jason Witten and Demarco Murray....are some real good football players.
    Dez - hurt
    Austin - hurt
    Murray- hurt
    Witten always consistant

    And that defensive was embarrassed

Another poster said it best Romo is not and will never be a top tier QB but neither will Flacco.

The jury is still out on Joe. The jury foreman has just read the verdict to the Court on Romo, though -- GUILTY as charged.

you stated they very little...I think this is a very talented team and I'm speaking in terms of the entire season.

Romo has 2 problems..1. the Oline and 2. himself

    And that defense was embarrassed

The defense was embarrassing ? You know your team best but given all the injuries the "D" has had to deal with they still put the team in position to win last night. Romo didn't.
IMO, those 3 picks were all on him.

For the record I like Romo...I'm not a hater at all. Just think he played very poorly last night and cost his team the game

The concept is the same. If you really want to spout that "Eli is Elite because he has rings", then go through his performance last week in BAL and show me how he overcame his team's flaws. He didn't. He looked like Flacco or most QBs do on the road with poor pass protection and receivers dropping his throws. When he was hurried, things didn't go well. When his receivers weren't making miraculous catches and/or big runs after the catch, things didn't go well. The ones that overcome their team's weaknesses are the true "elite" talents.

There's Brady and Peyton Manning. Maybe Brees. Maybe Rodgers. Though Brees doesn't have a ring today either if Brett Favre doesn't throw across his body in to traffic in the final moments of the NFC title game. The "elite" conversation today really ends there.
Eli is elite. He has as many 4th quarter comebacks in a season as Romeo does in a career. Eli doesn't play defense.

To each his own. I see a good QB, sometimes a very good QB, and occasionally a bad turnover machine (seasons with 29 and 30 turnovers on his resume). He has two rings thanks more to a great pass rush, solid run game, and several crucial tremendous catches / great runs after catches.

"Elite" is Brady, Peyton Manning, and maybe a couple others. Eli is a good QB who's been fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. There's nothing wrong with that. Nobody can ever take his rings away. He's proof that you don't have to be Brady or Manning, or Brees or Rodgers, to win a ring. Or two. He's proof that it's a team game.

We've labeled him elite because his TEAM has two titles with him at QB. But he's not close to the level of Brady, Peyton, and probably Brees or Rodgers. Doesn't mean "he" can't beat them. "He" has, on the biggest stage. With a LOT of help from his friends. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson can back him up. Even Big Ben wasn't putting up Brady / Manning video game numbers during his two title runs. Good gets it done too, in the right situation.

Eli has been in the league 9 years ......

lead his team to the playoffs 5 times and won two superbowls .......

who has had that kind of success other than Brady, Manning, Brees, Rogers? .......

Romo has been in the league 8 years .......

lead his team to the playoffs 3 times and won 1 playoff game .......

Romo shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as either manning brother ......

Bill Parcells has hinted that Romo is more interested in being a celebrity QB. I agree.

When Eli has the ball with 2 minute to go I never worry. Very few OB's you can say that about.

Totally agree on Eli. I laugh when Giants fans try to argue that Eli is better than Peyton because he has one more ring. I ask them how many MVP's and they have no response.

Hmmmm...so in your world, MVP's are more important than Lombardis.

    Got it.

    Talking

hard for me to really compare the two

    2 different football teams....2 different lines.....different receivers....different defenses.

It's clear to me that Peyton has had the better receivers over the years. Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne....beasts !

    Olines, tough call there

I will say IMO, Peyton has been the better overall QB though. Not because of the stats either. I formed my opinion by watching these guys play for so long. Peyton is and has been more consistent. Eli goes thru his ups and downs where one day he looks ELITE and the next week he looks pretty bad.
Something to be said for consistency right ?

I'll take the Lombardis over MVPs any day.
Who knows maybe Peyton ties it up this year because Denver has a pretty good football team on BOTH sides of the ball.

To my knowledge, they don't put individual names on the Lombardi Trophy.

Troy Aikman was a good QB. He was the ultimate "game manager", with some all-time great offensive lines in front of him. With some great teams. Put him on the Oilers, or Seahawks, or Bucs, or Rams, or a lot of other teams during his tenure... and he doesn't have any rings and doesn't have his name up in Canton. And in terms of pure talent, he doesn't deserve to be mentioned anywhere near Brady, Peyton Manning, Montana, Marino, etc.

But his team helped him become a HoFer...
