I can't beleive, and Bmore Ken and others will agree with me here, that this Eastern Shore Republican chose the soft shell crab as the state sandwich. This is racist but what would you expect from the GOP from the Eastern Shore at that??!?!?!?!?!??
And others mention the crabcake. These choices are ethnocentric and show a lack of awareness for diverse cultures and declaring this white invention as the state sandwich will alienate Marylanders from diverse backgrounds. I hereby would like to nominate two other contenders for the Maryland state sandwich .
1. The Seven Layer Burrito - we need to make sure that the New Americans we are welcoming with the Dream Act will truly feel welcome and included in our state's culture. Hence I nominate the Seven Layer Burrito (or the Doritos Locos Taco or the Chalupa Supreme) in honor of the rich cultures of our undocumented workers and New Americans and their rich cultural contributions to Maryland life.
2. Lake Trout Sandwich with side fixins of chitlins, collared greens, and watermelon - this is an authentic and indispensible part of Baltimore's urban culture. Generations of city folks and families have gathered around this rich sumptuous cuisine which has been passed down from generation to generation amid the rowhouses of such culturally rich communities like Sandtown, Randallstown, Pigtown, O'Donnell Heights, and Greenmount Avenue.
3. The Organic Veggieburger - for those who are progressive and socially and environmentally aware, who support a greener planet, and an end to the needless slaughter of animals for meat.....who seek an alternative lifestyle to mainstream America.

However, If you think, I am ultimate judge right/wrong. You are correct. Now, move on.
Darwin should have left them on Galapagos. Who knows what might have happened in 5,000 years?
