Honestly, I've wondered how Smith has kept his job as long as he has.
Crennel, Shurmur, Reid, Turner, Smith. Wow. Busy off season.
I am going to be in chicago for a few days in the near future, should be interesting ........
when I was there a few weeks ago the cabbies had some colorful opinions of what should be done.......
Still to go ?
Ariz. - Wisenhunt
Oak. - Dennis Allen
Jax. - Mike Mularkey
Car. - Ron Rivera ?
NYJ. - Rex Ryan (will return)
Det. - Jim Schwartz (still has 3 years left) IMO,this guy needs to go.
SD. - Norv Turner
Dal. - Jason Garrett ?? I see him staying
must have missed it, Chan Gailey fired
Chan Gailey's out too! Shocker. That should be the lead story on SC today...
I never really understood the Gailey hiring to begin with.
Ah good ole' Rex. Helped get Billick fired here. Helped get Tannenbaum fired in NY.
Maybe if I'm a player, Rex is a guy I want in the foxhole with me. Maybe.
If I have an office instead of a locker, I'm not so sure Rex is a guy I want watching my back...![]()
Eagerly awaiting the day that Tom Brady hangs 'em up, the Pats go 5-11 for two straight years, and The Genius is fired.
Jay Cutler ends another coach's tenure, this time in CHI.
Work with a PIT fan who wants Tomlin (and his one ring, that makes him an "elite coach" right?) fired.![]()
Been hearing the Steeler fan base is not happy. I like the guy and think he's a good coach.
It was interesting to hear (DKBlue) say that Rooney wanted Haley to change the offensive system to limit hits on Roethlisberger. Seems Big Ben wasn't very happy with the play calling at all.
Jay Cutler....the talented terd...lol
I wouldn't be so quick on that 5-11 projection. A few years ago Brady was lost for the season in the first half of the first game. Matt Cassell replaced him and the Patriots went 11-5, missing the playoffs only because the third division tiebreaker went to the Dolphins instead of the Patriots. That's the same Matt Cassell that has bombed in Kansas City. Brady is a big part of New England's success for sure, but it isn't out of the question that the Patriots draft another Brady or even sign a superstar free agent QB. The Pats use all the rest of their team as "plug and play" parts and will likely have the money under the cap to do just that.
Garrett isn't going anywhere that would be an admission that Jerry was wrong
Of course, if Brady goes and they get another good QB, they'll probably be a good team. He was WELL under .500 in Cleveland, but he never had the collection of talent (nor future HoF and maybe Greatest QB Ever).
It's also the same Matt Cassel that went 10-6 (actually 10-5) with the Chiefs a couple years later, and led them to a division title. And that Chiefs team had a LOT less talent on it than the '08 Patriots, who brought back much of an 18-1 team.
The Ravens went 10-6 (playoffs) and then 9-7 (barely out) with Kyle Boller and Anthony Wright as their primary QBs. They must have had a brilliant mind as their HC then...![]()
